[SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  [Old] Index on Sun Apr 20, 2014 12:49 pm

There were many Middle school and High school students at the road in the crowded roads within District 15.

With the morning supplementary classes over and most schools going through with internal exams, all the students who didn't have exams that day he been released and majority of them had gone out to the streets to play in the afternoon, and a certain choke point of this busy central shopping districts was exceptionally crowded with students.

Jack Nightingale was amongst this packed crowd. Being one of the two foreigners at the scene he definitely stood out from the rest of the crowd, mainly Japanese students from all over the country sent to Academy City for their study. He was of average height, and his blonde hair was a dead give away that he didn't really belong there and while his appearance gave away his foreigness, it was no where near as foreign as the Magician that stood in front of him.

Jack Nightingale was a Magician as well of course but not just any Magician, he was a seasoned professional in the field of covert operations. Jack was quite literally a Jack of All Trades, he was a courier, a spy and sometimes if he was put on the spotlight he was even known for his trade as an experienced killer. He wasn't the best suited to be a hitman though, rather he was more suited to working in the shadows collecting information while leaving no trace of his presence behind and he took pride in his trade. Yet... it hasn't even been an hour since he infiltrated Academy City only to be found out by who seems to be acting under Academy City's best interests.

A red nun...?

She was about thirteen years old, with wavy blond hair. Her white skin seemed as soft as baby skin and though the girl looked cute, her attire was rather....weird.

She was only wearing a shirt underneath her habit. Actually, the shirt wasn't any different from formfitting underwear, as it revealed the girl's pretty figure fully. Also, the girl was bound by black straps and metal braces, and they seemed to form a bondage outfit. There was an extremely thick ring around her neck, with a rein around it. The leather strap on her waist was full of tools like pincers, hammers, an L-shaped crowbar, and saws.

Those tools weren't used for carpentry, they were witch tribunal tools that specialized in cutting flesh, scraping bones and breaking bodies. Looking closer, these tools were slightly modified to be different from ordinary carpentry tools and unlike what the naked eye could perceive, each tool weighed a 188 tonnes per tool. How it wasn't dragging down the small nun into the core of the Earth was a mystery but neither Jack nor people around them knew about any of this.

She remained expressionless as she lowered her head, only revealing her small lips showing a slight sigh.

She reached her hand into her back pocket.

What she took out was something similar to a mini-handgun, but the barrel’s more than 3cm. It was a special gun that fired signal flares given to her by the Superintendent of Academy City as part of the agreement between Academy City and the Russian Orthodox Church for allowing a member of Annihilatus to attend formal education here. It was a tool mainly issued out to members of the Anti-Skill and Judgment to clear out civilians from field of strife.

The red nun raised the gun and pointed it at the sky then squeezed the trigger and with a comical ‘BAM’ sound, a lipstick-size metal cylinder slowly rose 7m in the air.

Then, with a sudden boom, the glaring flash scattered from the metal container.

All the students were terrified by the sudden burst of light as they covered their eyes with their hands and rooted to the ground. But at that moment, everyone’s actions were rather swift. Once the shrieks and roars subsided, everyone immediately moved towards the nearby buildings, even the university students and the teachers abandoned their cars and headed into the buildings.

Every resident of this city knew the protocol, an evacuation order that the Academy City security forces would let out which meant that ‘there will be a battle here, so please don’t be involved in the gunfight that’ll start within 30 seconds’.

The originally busiest road in District 15 was cleared out in matter of seconds.

Only the red nun and Jack Nightingale were left on the empty street.

The red nun asked with a flat robotic-like tone, "My first question: What is your objective as an intruder?"

Through the long bangs, Jack could see that her eyes had no hint of hesitation, and her irises were much colder than the saw hanging at her waist easily accessible should a need arise.

Jack had infiltrated the city less than an hour prior, and had spent the time that followed wandering aimlessly, gazing in fascination at the city's advanced technology. Cleaning robots, the futuristic-looking architecture, and the thought that just about everyone around him was an esper. He was completely in tourist mode. "According to that map I saw a while back, this should be District 15?" he said, entirely to himself. "District 9 looked nearby, perhaps I'll go there next?" He was enjoying himself immensely, until, that is, he saw something which completely snapped him out of his culture shock-induced stupor.

A blonde nun. In bondage. With various tools of torture hanging around her waist. And she was staring right at him. If, after his years of experience, he couldn't identify her as a magician, than he had no idea how he had survived this long. Her eyes were covered by her bangs, and he could see no expression on her face. But then, a sigh. He would have missed it if he hadn't been paying attention. She reached behind her, and Jack stuck his hand into his left pocket. If needed, then he would toss a hagalaz runestone at her. If it made contact, which was unlikely, then her mind would draw a blank for a few seconds, giving him a chance to escape. If the much more likely scenario occurred, then she would knock the runestone away or dodge it, allowing him a chance to lose her by mixing into the crowd.

The red nun then took out what looked like a small handgun and raised it into the sky, shooting a flare. The crowd paused for a moment, then completely dispersed. "For such a large crowd to disperse immediately, that must be some sort of predetermined signal." he thought. "But is that just normal here in Academy City, or did someone set up an ambush?" With the easiest method of escape cut off, Jack made sure to keep an eye on the nun's movement, so he wouldn't miss an attack. "My first question: What is your objective as an intruder?" The nun spoke in a flat, robotic tone, and Jack could tell that she, too, was keeping her weapons within easy reach. Jack however, relaxed immediately upon discovering that conversation was an option, though he kept his hand in his pocket. "I'm a tourist, just a simple tourist." he said casually, without a hint of stress in his voice.

District 15: Empty Shopping Streets

"My second question: Can you prove it?"

The red nun said what seemed to be pre-prepared questions. Maybe she expected that Jack the tourist could potentially be lying.

Without any warnings, the girl's little body quickly darted forward, reducing the distance of 50 meters to 0; the time taken was far less than a second.

Fifty meters per second....

She was moving faster than a bullet, no maybe even faster as she threw two of her tools at each side of Jack's potential escape route forcing him to either move towards her or backwards. A melee specialist?

She drew her saw, killing intent screaming out from the way she gripped it sent chills as she advanced towards him like a red bullet.

No hesitation at all.

Judgment 177th Branch

The school bus that Gou and Chisa was riding was shared by the five schools in the School Garden.

With the financial power that each school had, having their own buses wasn’t a problem. However, each school had the ideal of ‘letting students engage with other society for their own safety’, and gathered the bus system as one.
The buses owned by the five schools had large and luxurious interiors, earning it the moniker ‘double procession limo’. The student seats were located below, while the top was a café. The bus would always move in a fixed route, down the roads to the five dormitories.

The place where Gou and Chisa was alighting wasn’t in front of their respective dormitories and only a few students could be seen in the bus. It was the Exams period and while students with exams had to stay behind, majority took buses to District 15 the shopping district to hang out. A little past lunch hour, only students taking this buses were either students preparing for their exams tomorrow or ones who weren't very social amongst their peers. So much for engaging with other societies.

Once they got off the bus the two of them pulled out the Judgment armband from their bags, and put it on the sleeve of their uniform, and headed off in a completely different direction from where the students around them were moving to. The mood changed from ‘after school’ to ‘work’, the shriveled bag became even more cumbersome. Because what they needed wasn’t ‘items required for school’, but ‘items required for battle’.

Beside the student dormitory, there was another school.

It was an ordinary rectangular concrete school compound, completely different from the School Garden. They walked inside, getting a pair of slippers at the staff entrance, where there were hardly any students around, and headed down the corridor lit by a neat row of overhead lamps. After walking on the icy and hard plastic floor for a while, one could see a door with a signboard. The words on the signboard read ‘Judgment 177th Branch’.

The 177th Branch Office didn’t look like a school classroom, but rather like an office. There were many of those metal desks seen in a city hall, and there were several sets of computers on them.

"Welcome to 177th Branch. You must be the transfers I've been told about!"

The girl behind one of the computer welcomed them. Her name was Konori Mii. She was slightly older than Gou and Chisa, but she didn't look any different from an adult, rather her proportions would have given college girls a run for their money. Short hair, glasses and well endowed from the stories they heard about her, she was the Chief of 177th Judgment Branch.

Aside from the chief however, there was nobody here. Not surprising considering Judgment was made up of students who could be taking an exam right now.

"My second question: Can you prove it?" The red nun's response sounded almost rehearsed. Obviously she wasn't stupid enough to believe him unconditionally, even if he was telling the truth. As he didn't have an answer that would satisfy her, Jack tensed up and prepared for what seemed to be an inevitable confrontation. An instant later, she threw two of her tools to each side, cutting off his escape routes, and rushed forward, drawing her saw. She closed the distance in an instant.

"She's fast...!" Jack tossed the pre-prepared hagalaz runestone in front of him, trying to aim it towards her legs, so she would have to bend downwards a bit to knock it away, and quickly tried to step back. "Oi, what's with the sudden attack?!" he asked, exasperated. He hoped that whether the hagalaz rune made contact or not, it would provide enough of an opening for the weapons she had thrown to his sides to get out of the way, so he could free up his options and get away, or at least buy some more time to try and convince the nun to settle this in a more peaceful manner.

Hagalaz rune did make contact with the small nun's body.

More specifically it was thrown towards her knee and with a loud noise the stone smashed against the darting red bullet nun as she sped towards him with the saw. Whether she noticed the rune stone or not he couldn't be sure, everything happened in the blink of an eye and the only reaction he's made was to run hoping the rune stone would spare him an opening. If she did notice the stone, then she made no attempts to dodge or knock it out of her way, instead it collided against her kneecap and smashed into fragments before it could activate the spell stored inside it.

What was she? Despite having a lithe delicate form she was far from a frail little girl, it almost felt like Jack threw a stone at an advancing bullet train headed straight for him.

2 loud noise accompanied the creation of 2 craters behind Jack. The tools she threw landed behind him and ended up creating a crater, each with a diameter of 1 meters or more.

He felt the cold edged teeth on her saw pressing hard against his neck and a monstrous grip around his left wrist threatening to break off his hand at the slightest notice. She had strength to match an elephant from those small twig like arms and among his blood circulation cutting off from his left hand he felt her thumb positioned and ready to press down on what seemed like a construction nail into his arm.

Though the method was unclear, both Magicians were proficient in rune magick, while Jack employed rune stones he assumed she utilized the use of engraved nails for her spells to take effect.

"Repeating my second question: Can you prove it?" she asked again in that same monotonous voice.

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Mon Apr 21, 2014 11:05 am

The morning hasn’t been anything special. It followed the usual pattern he knew all to well. May it have been the exam period or not, it did never change for Furuhashi Gou. Waking up, school, then leaving for work. Actually this noon was supposed to become something very special indeed. A change in the usual time schedule occurred, as he wasn’t supposed to head to his usual office. No, this time he had to take a bus towards a new destination.
It would have been a lie for him to say that he wasn’t excited.

The actual ride was an annoyance, of the highest level. Gou had figured out that he wasn’t the only person sitting on this bus. There were actually a few students, yet no one seemed the same as him. Being alone, not only in his Akashin high school uniform, but in his function as a member of Judgement. Ironically even the small number of students did have some, that wouldn’t enjoy their own silence.
A particular one had decided to show interest for the other people around herself, looking straight for any kind of conversation. It was a girl, rather a brat, very small, yet clad into the uniform of one of Academy City’s most prestigious middle schools, Tokiwdai. He had seen people from there before. Who hadn’t? Yet talking to one of them was another story.
For a guy that never enjoyed talking to others this girl really would become a nightmare. She simply had decided to approach him, asking him questions, telling him many things, nagging and nagging, while he simply stood silent, only introducing himself, forced by common sense. Even that small action, however had seemed like a stupid idea, causing the little midget to talk and talk even more.
What a great start. He simply had to pray for a miracle, right?

But it didn’t occur. That green armband simply was enough of a signal for him, to give up on all hopes. That blonde dwarf was really heading towards that destination?

Upon arriving, he felt as nervous as always. This wasn’t his first time of being sent to another office. No, he actually had experienced that quite often since he had joined Judgement and this time wouldn’t be the last, he guessed. It was simply what destiny gave him, wasn’t it? Never fitting in, never being able to adapt to the group.
However, he always hoped to finally be able to change things. And so, when changing to slippers his mind had already been filled with worries. What to say? What to do? He wasn’t sure about anything anymore, hiding it underneath the façade of strong and ice-cold boy. Possibly the best approach towards these situations, as well as to hide weakness from leaking out. The other one was simply ignored, just the same as her name, he had already forgotten about.

The moment when opening that door. Gou had decided to be the first one heading into the office, as usual. He hated to be late, even if it meant to come in after another person. The old rule ‘Ladies first’ was something that didn’t exist in that matter. He was nervous, tense, the questions and worries were tearing him apart. What if he screwed up in some way? It was too easy for things like that to happen, that he knew. He already felt like something terrible would happen upon entering. Everything could happen…
And then he saw her. That voice ringing in his mind like the sounds of the world’s most prestigious instruments, her face, so beautiful that no artist should ever be able to depict it, her friendly smile, simply warming, no melting his heart and that presence, he was absolutely unable to describe.
He could feel his heart beating, Cupid’s arrow had hit him straight into his heart. Leaving him unable to breath, unable to even move, just staring at that girl with his mouth open and his head being conquered by a pinkish tone of red.

He was supposed to speak? But how could he? His lungs were empty, his mouth dry. All of his body was shaking. Talk you idiot!, his mind shouted, with no effect. Furuhashi Gou was defeated, the moment he had entered the office.

So that’s what they call love on first sight?

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Fuyuki Chisa on Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:28 pm

Judgement! Chisa was, a little bit unusual for her, in a good mood this day. Like a child, she was exited about her transfer to a new branch. 177th Judgement branch... The chief was Konori Mii... She sat next to rather quiet guy in the bus. He was pretty tall, a bit bulky, but Chhisa didn't seem to care about his appearance. A thug like him should be  grateful, that a lovely lady from Tokiwadai like her, would bother herself to talk with him! That's what she thought, as she gave him an earbashing with her high-pitched voice. Furuhashi Gou... First-Year-Student of some no-name-school...  Akashin-High? Had to be some thug-school. This were the only informations she got from him.

She was a bit startled, when she discovered that “thug” was actually a member of Judgement, just like her. On the way to the judgement office, she didn't say much, but walked next to him slowly and sometimes looked up to him in a somewhat curious way. He was shy, apparently.

Chisa entered the office after Gou. She clasped her hands and walked, with the most gracile and lady-like attitude she could bring up, through the 177th branch. Chisa discovered an older girl with glasses sitting behind a computer.  Quickly, the well-endowed girl greeted them in a friendly way. The little, blond girl smiled. “My name is Fuyuki Chisa. You must be Konori-senpai, is that right? It's such a pleasure to meet you~”  She said and bowed a little bit. Then, Chisa looked up to Gou, waiting for his introduction... But he didn't say a thing. He blushed heavily, as he stared air-headed like some moron... She raised an eyebrow and looked to the black-haired girl.

“And that's...” She raised her hand and pointed at the big guy next to her. “Furuhashi Gou-san. Student of Akashin High... He's pleased too... I guess~” She introduced him and nodded.

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Jack Nightingale on Tue Apr 22, 2014 12:40 am

Seeing that the runestone made contact, Jack glanced to the side in order to check on the weapons blocking his escape routes, until he heard a loud cracking noise, which prompted him to immediately whip his head back towards the nun with a bondage fetish. "The stone shattered along with the spell?!" It had been obvious that the nun's physical abilities were far from normal since she had covered fifty meters in an instant, but it seemed that that was just the tip of the iceberg.

He'd been caught in a melee fight, which was not his forte, against a magician whose forte seemed to be exactly that, without any chance to prepare himself. He was just about ready to give up then and there. She was still advancing, there was nothing in between them, and her footfalls were accompanied by two loud crashes, as the thrown weapons embedded themselves into the ground, creating two large craters in the process.

While Jack was distracted by the craters, the nun arrived in front of him, pressed her saw against his neck, grabbed his left hand with strength clearly not normal for someone of her stature, and readied a nail above his arm, prepared to drive it down at any moment.

"Ow. Pins and needles. Pins and needles. That hurts, you know?" His thoughts, however, had a more serious tone. "That nail is engraved. So she uses runes too, huh? Well, not like that knowledge'll be of any use in my current situation." "Repeating my second question: Can you prove it?" The nun flat out ignored him and repeated her previous question. And in a tone still devoid of stress, though his expression held a a fair bit of tension thanks to the knowledge that he was at her mercy, he replied "Unfortunately, no, I have no way to prove it. I would, however, appreciate it if you avoided jumping to conclusions and killing me off. Just cause I can't prove it doesn't mean it's not true, you know."

Judgment 177th Branch

There were documents spread out on the office desks and so many tabs opened on Konori's computer when they came in. With all the exams going on at this time of the year Judgment was sorely lacking in personnel, 177th branch wasn't exempt from it either it would seem.

"Ah sorry about the messy state we're in. It's been quite busy lately with just the two of us in the office."

She motioned them to take a seat and brought out some tea and afternoon snacks. Most of them were brought in by one of her kouhai's friend who attended Tokiwadai with her. Some of the juices had a very peculiar name to them giving them an awkward expectations as to what they could possibly taste like. These names ranged from, Viennese Sausage Coffee, Rainbow Tomato Juice and Bear Curry Cola. If Konori recalled these were all taken from a certain vending machine that was said to be old and malfunctioning...

"Usually there would be Shirai-san and Uiharu-san working here at this hour but due to the exams we're running a little thin with the lack of personnel as you can tell, so I'm thrilled to have you guys with us."

An hour went by without anyone realizing while discussing the various cases 177th branch had been dealing with lately. It was business as usual for Chisa and Gou who were transferred here to temporarily serve as backup during the exam period but seeing as there has been too much work for 177th branch to handle even while fully staffed the temporary transfer was later approved for permanent transfer.

"Mii-chan this is Aomi, Are you still there?"

A voice came from the radio buried under some official documents.

"There's been an unauthorized evacuation signal picked up on District 15, nothings been caught on the security footages so we're wondering if you can spare someone to look into it."

The computer screen blinked and displayed the map of the District 15, and in a corner on the road in the shopping alley, there was an ‘X’. On the road nearby, there were some colored arrowheads, which probably indicated where the flare was notified by security drones.

District 15: Empty Shopping Streets

The red nun slightly tilted her head to a side, seemingly expressing the suspicion in her heart and proceeded to pin the nail into Jack's wrist with a gentle push of her thumb.

A grotesque noise accompanied the 'gentle' push as steel forcefully shredded into human flesh, invading the Magician's system with the magic embedded inside the nail. Jack was able to figure out the spell he was trapped in, a fusion of nordic rune magick and the ritual of crucifixion of the son of God. In contrast to the re-enactment of the ritual, Jack didn't feel any pain as the nail plunged into his wrist nor did he bleed.

Instead he felt his hand... no his entire body was being robbed of mana, a state similar to an ordinary human being incapable of neither supernatural abilities nor magic. The instant he would use a spell it would have dire consequence on his body of which he couldn't be sure from his current predicament. After all there were numerous spells a seemingly harmless nail could be engraved with as long as the magician knew the equation. His whole arm could burst into a bleeding fountain if he exerted mana to utilize spells in his current state.

"Way to make things flashy bondage girl, I don't know about Antiskill since we can simply give them a order to stand down but Judgment probably sent someone down here to look into your flare earlier."

There was a girl there.

She was taller than the red nun. Her hair was tied in two ponytails, and she was wearing a Western school uniform. However, it was a winter uniform. The Western style coat wasn’t worn, but draped over her back, unbuttoned. She was not wearing any shirt underneath, her upper body exposed, with only a light pink cloth wrapped around her chest like underwear or bandages. There was a belt hung around her waist, but it didn’t seem to fix the belt in place, it was more like a decoration. The belt wasn’t made of leather, but rather, many pieces of metal. There was a ring on it, with a black metal cylinder that was longer than 40cm and 3cm in diameter placed through it.

It was a military flashlight that could be used as a baton.

Probably a high school student, Jack boldly guessed. His first day in Academy City and he was surrounded already by women in weird choices of attire.

Such misfortune?

"The head honcho asked me to retrieve him so I'll take it from here." said the red haired girl.

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Tue Apr 22, 2014 5:08 pm

Saved. Gou couldn’t get it himself, but that Tokiwadai girl really jumped in to save him. She wasn’t asked to do so, she didn’t even have any reason, but the simply decided to reply in his place. So at least he was introduced. Bowing in front of his new boss, Gou tried his best to at least seem friendly and equipped with good manners. Leaving a bad impression on the first day was never a good thing. Especially when there was such a person…
Only thinking about the girl in front of him, made things difficult, looking in her direction though seemed to even become deadly.
It was obvious to him that he wouldn’t be able to speak, at least for now. What should he say anyway? He wasn’t sure, didn’t come up with anything and when he did, he figured that it would be too embarrassing! Talking to Konori Mii had to be done in a proper way! A way he wasn’t capable of! Totally! In the end he was too scared, too nervous, not used to such a situation or feeling.

As the conversation went on, things didn’t really change. That blonde girl, Fuyuki Chisa, was the one talking most of the time. Even when it was Gou’s turn to take part that Fuyuki-san somehow rescued him, by interrupting. Wasn’t that something to be really grateful about? Well, it pained him more than anything else, biting his lips, pressing his nails into his palm. Yet not even pain would free him from that curse. And the few responses given by him didn’t even appear as full sentences, however enough to actually show he wasn’t as useless as he did seem.
The knowledge he gained about his new workplace was the best part, as well as the drinks. Their names actually were as enjoyable as their tastes. Hiding his face behind one of these cans for most of the time, Gou at least was capable to even have a good excuse for hiding.

So this was the start of a new chapter in his life? Well, another new chapter, if every new office he had transferred to in the past would count. At least he already saw how he could help out the best way possible, as usual. And this time his motivation was even bigger than usual, unable to deny any request given by the chief. Whatever she would ask him to, he would do it without hesitation. May that be cleaning the whole building or some more inhuman work…

However in the end the peaceful atmosphere was broken. A voice coming out of a communication device was to be heard, delivering a rather serious message. At least Gou’s reaction made it seem like one. Immediately jumping off his chair, prepared to do what a Judgement member had to do in such a situation. Thank god!, his mind shouted out, rejoicing a final turn of events! Finally a chance to get some distance and air! Without any word leaving his lips, he already had tightened the gloves he was wearing, giving a clear impression to the other two.
Oh wait? Didn’t he forget about something? ”I…wi-will go!” Still unable to form full sentences that boy had to rely on anything that would leave his mouth in order to communicate.

”Ju-just…tell… di-direction!” Even worse, huh? Turning his head away in shame, he simply stood there frozen, yet ready to directly sprint right out of the door.

Post  Fuyuki Chisa on Thu Apr 24, 2014 12:57 pm

That Konori-senpai was a pretty nice person; Even though she wasn't an ojou, Chisa could understand why she was so popular... It was quite pleasant to talk with her. But the Tokiwadai-girl was the only one doing so in this very room... That oaf next to her, however, was mute the whole time. What a strange gentleman, she thought. Was he just an idiot? Or really, really shy...?

Just after Chisa wanted to make her point about a case, a voice came out of Konoris communication device. Pardon? An unauthorized evacuation signal? Oh dear... Someone was playing around with a signal pistol? Must be some-... Suddenly, Furuhasi-san jumped off from his place and Chisa looked up to him, rising an eyebrow. I'll go, the big guy said. She smiled and flipped her hair. “Arara? Alone~? I like your spirit, but you should bring someone with you...” She stood up and straightened her green armband. “This could be quite troublesome.” She added, while her expression became more serious. District 15, was it? The shopping district... Why should someone wanted to clean the streets from civilians? What happened? Or just some stupid prank?

Konori gave them communication devices and Chisa applied the device to her ear. Furthermore, they got the exact coordinates of the place, where the flare gun was shot. “Let's go, Furuhashi-san!” she said. They left the office promptly. District 15 was next to District 7, where the 177th branch was located. Gou and Chisa were trained to orientate themselves Academy City's streets. They ran through alleys, took shortcuts, avoided crowds, only with their goal in their mind.

"We don't know what may await us, so just stay behind and let me handle everything!" said the big fool  in a commanding tone, while they were on their way.  She just glared at him with her big, golden eyes. “We will see about that, Furuhashi-san~” she said in a somewhat waspish voice.

They arrived at the targeted location after a short time and...

Chisa looked startled at the scene in front of her. The first thing she noticed: That petite girl... pressing a saw against the neck of a blond man?! And... What? A nail in his wrist?! A crime! A criminal aussault! - She assumed. Chisa shouted: "We're with Judgement! Drop your weapons! NOW!"

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Sat Apr 26, 2014 7:28 pm

[OOC: I simply decided to add this post in order to show Gou's reaction after Chisa's edit. Hope that's alright with you guys~]

What was that feeling? Something drove worry into Gou’s mind. It wasn’t like he was never worried when investigating an event occurring in this city. It wasn’t that he wasn’t used to such things to happen. It was simply that he had a very bad feeling about this situation, intuition so to say. But what should wait ahead of them?
They were running, fast enough to arrive there sooner than later. Avoiding most obstacles they would reach their target location without any problems, just as they had learned it during their training. Gou already considered anything that could block their path, anything that they could face. Maybe that whole mess was only caused by a prankster. Wasn’t that most likely?

His order to Chisa was simply. She should stay behind, no matter what. It wasn’t because he wanted to gain the most attention, not because she was a small girl that couldn’t handle serious matters. No, he simply though about the best way to avoid any harm for her. Yeah, she was a student of Tokiwadai and by that possibly able to present quite some fighting abilities. However if a real fight was to occur, or even worse an ambush would await them, he would try his hardest to take everything thrown at them, protecting his – he really didn’t like the sound of it – partner.

And all of a sudden they arrived at their target location. An open place, nearly empty of people. It felt so different, so unusual. He knew this place quite well, always filled with lots of different people, always crowded. Not even the exam period should be able to change it. But something as simply as a signal flare really had some effect, didn’t it? But why?
The question was answered at the first look at the scene happening in front of the two Judgement members. There wasn’t any need for him to focus on details, the first impression was enough. Two girls, one clad in red, most definitely a cosplayer, the other one a red haired, clad into a winter uniform, quite unusual for this time of the year. Upon taking his second look at the red-head it even seemed like she wasn’t dressed properly, at least her upper body seemed like that.
Both of them were right at attacking a third person, a boy, a foreigner as far Gou could tell from the distance. Even for Academy City’s standards this could be considered a dangerous situation. This is bad…how are we supposed to proceed without endangering that guy any further…?

Preparing words to prevent the situation from escalating, he was suddenly overwhelmed by a way too quick Fuyuki Chisa, simply running past him, shouting out the usual catch-phrase any Judgement member spoke out when facing a crime. That idiot! A face-palm wasn’t enough to express the way the boy felt just now. Simply running up to a group of criminals threatening a man’s life would never solve anything, wouldn’t it? But now it was too late, wasn’t it?

”You heard her. Put down your weapons and step away from that man. Oh and while you’re at it, raise your hands so that I can see them.” At least looking dead serious no matter how dumbfounded  he was, was something the Furuhashi boy always had been good at.

In response to his answer, the nun tilted her head to the side, expressing her suspicion, and jammed the nail into his arm. His flesh made a noise made him want to gag, and he felt the magic in the nail invade his body. There were two upsides to this, however, not that they would help him get out of this situation. There was no pain or bleeding, and he was able to figure out that what kind of a spell she was using with the sensations he felt instead. "Using magic would not end well with that nail in my arm, and this girl doesn't seem willing to listen to any explanations. This is bad."

Just as he thought that, however, there was an interruption. "Way to make things flashy bondage girl, I don't know about Antiskill since we can simply give them a order to stand down but Judgment probably sent someone down here to look into your flare earlier." Even though the streets had been empty until now, there was a girl there. Neither Jack nor the nun who was attacking him seemed to have noticed her approach. She was wearing a part of her school uniform on her back like a cape, and instead of wearing anything underneath, she covered her chest with bandages. She wore a belt made up of a series of pieces of metal. It had a ring on it which contained a flashlight that was of sufficient length to be used as a baton. She seemed to be a high school student. "The head honcho asked me to retrieve him so I'll take it from here."

"Eh, the head honcho?" asked Jack, the confusion evident in his voice. The girl wasn't exactly specific as to what her employer was head of. Before she could reply, however, an interruption arrived. Two students, one short, female, and with blonde hair, while the other was, in comparison, tall, male, and had light grey hair. Their only similarity was their armbands. Upon seeing his current predicament, the girl seemed shocked, which was natural, but she quickly shifted to more serious countenance. "We're with Judgement! Drop your weapons! NOW!" she yelled. ”You heard her. Put down your weapons and step away from that man. Oh and while you’re at it, raise your hands so that I can see them.” the other student followed up. He on the other hand, seemed to remain calm and collected from beginning to end. "I haven't even been in the city an hour, and this happens? Did someone curse me when I wasn't looking?" he said, his tone the same as it had been from the beginning, with what little tension he'd shown when cornered by the nun having disappeared at some point.

Two Judgment field agents, the red nun knew their purpose in Academy City as peacekeepers comprised mostly of Espers and as ordered prior to her engagement to her activities within Academy City she was not to kill them even if they presented hostility or threatened to jeopardize the mission. Though that goes without saying there was no need for her to restrain herself from not harming them if they got in their way.

Awaki sighed in response as she saw Judgment make their appearance known to their enemies. Well as far as she predicted things turned out messy but it didn't really mattered for the strongest Teleporter in Academy City to outrun a few Judgment with a hostage. She was Move Point, though she seemed reluctant about teleporting herself, she was more than prepared to do so if she had no other choice left. Luckily enough however, she did have other choices available to her.

"Well it's your mess so I'll let you deal with the pursuers. Stall them for a bit ciao~." was all Musujime said as she left the scene casually, while the man named Jack Nightingale vanished into thin air at the wave of her torch.

The nun didn't object to this idea and merely nodded as she faced Judgment and spoke in a monotonous voice.

“A supplementary explanation: Withdraw without questions or risk heavy consequence."

Chisa and Gou faced a red nun whose childlike form hid a monstrous strength. If Kazari Uiharu was there to investigate detailed information about the enemy she would have discovered that the nun before them was registered as a student of Tokiwadai and her ability recorded in the Bank was that of Limit Break.

She took no preparation or stance indicating she was ready for combat, instead she simply watched them with cold eyes hidden behind her bangs while allowing Musujime to walk away. But even though she wasn't doing anything they sensed cold sweat behind their neck as though they were ready to walk into a lion's den.

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Mon Apr 28, 2014 10:59 am

There they stood. Both Furuhashi and Fuyuki resembled the ones to come whenever there occurred trouble in this city. Both of them only had one aim in such a situation, trying to prevent what was going on, trying to find out as much as possible about what was going on and trying to investigate the reason for everything, as well as the names of the culprits. As of right now all three of these strangers were involved and so all three of them needed to be interrogated.

But there was a high lack of cooperation. As if both of them never even said a word, no one reacted on their call. Especially not those two girls. Was that a joke? Or did they actually have a reason not to see them as a serious threat? The raid haired one with the pony tails seemed absolutely relaxed, while telling the other to take care of the rest. She simply swung a short staff that seemed like a torch and suddenly the blonde man disappeared into thin air. A teleporter? The obvious conclusion had come to Gou’s mind at an instance. But why didn’t she simply disappear then? No, she simply walked away as if there was nothing preventing her from doing so.
Why didn’t they try following her?

A look at the red nun standing there gave the obvious answer. She wasn’t showing any reaction and yet it felt like they were facing a monster from one of these horror movies. Indeed, her weapons really reminded Furuhashi of objects being used for torturing the weak, dirty and seemingly painful. His skin felt itchy even at the thought of being touched by one. A cut seemed even worse to him.
It seemed like they had to take care of the nun first, the other one would be found later, as they already had enough information about her. If he found her, he’d instantly lecture her, that was for sure.

“A supplementary explanation: Withdraw without questions or risk heavy consequence."

Wasn’t that a heavy threat? Did she even know what that meant? It actually even worked on him. Cold sweat was running down his neck, breathing became difficult and his heart started pounding like some crazy drummer sat in his chest.
However he didn’t show anything of that. His expression was cold, his stance was quite relaxed and even his eyes didn’t loose focus. ”What do you think you’re doing there? Threatening us? That’s just another thing for the list of rule breaches.” This time he even decided to be the first one to speak out to her, sharp, even taking one step forward, while trying to no lose sight of her. Any movement she would make could cause them massive danger. So he had to prepare to react in any way necessary.
”If you simple cooperated with us, you would even gain the right to talk back to us. But you don’t feel like doing that, don’t you?” Putting her under pressure wasn’t the best strategy, yet it was the only way to show her that she may have been in a dangerous situation right now, facing a superior enemy. Well, at least she should believe that both of them were superior, Gou actually didn’t.

”So please: Would you drop your weapons and raise your hands? Then we may have a talk, miss.”

What? Chisa noticed the red-haired girl just after her line. "Well it's your mess so I'll let you deal with the pursuers. Stall them for a bit ciao~." she said and the little girl glared at her furiously. What the hell was with that not-caring-attitude?! She wanted to leave the crime scene!? She was a student in the Kirigaoka Girls Academy, as Chisa could tell from the school-uniform on her shoulders... Gone? The blond man was gone! Just in a blink of an eye. The injured man... “Teleport.” The little, blond girl said in a surprised tone, as she witnessed the powers. Without touching the target... “Wait! You can't go! You are-...” But the Teleport-girl didn't even bother to listen to the dwarf. And then the petite, violent girl with the strange weapons stood in their way. She seemed pretty emotionless and wasn't bothered by the Judgement-members at all. The Tokiwadai-girl was pretty upset about that. What was with that two, inappropriate-clothed girls not showing any respect?! - She thought.

“A supplementary explanation: Withdraw without questions or risk heavy consequence."

She threatened them. Chisa's golden pupils shrank and her eyes looked like that of a cat. Of a spitting cat. A crackling tone could be heard around her body and her two pigtails stood up in the air. Sparks came out of the girl. Anyone would experience an electric shock upon touching her.
“I'm in a really bad mood right now...” Chisa said with a sharp, cold-sounding voice, looking to the other girl. “This is your last chance for capitulation. If you still insist to threat us, I'll have to take you down.”

Judgment Desu No!

In all honesty she didn't believe for a second they would comply, but it was safe than sorry to ask for the off chance that they would simply turned back and walked away. She briefly looked back to see whether her companion was still there or not and noticing she was nowhere to be found she proceeded to face the two Judgment officers.

From a strange pouch hanging on her belt she took out two nails engraved with rune magic, each as long as an average male's index finger and pierced them through her shoulders. A red spark of light shot out from the fresh wound as it dug deeper into her flesh until it set into her arm without a single drop of blood. To the two facing her this was a strange sight to behold, but it was necessary ritual for the Magician as it was an effective means of limiting her physical abilities.

Raw power drained from her arms to the point her punches would feel 1/100th of her average power.

Self mutilation shocked the two before her and she used that reaction to make her move, power rushed into her feet as she launched herself at Gou, her bare fist raised and poised to strike him across his gut. She aimed to instantly paralyze him with the blow while disregarding Chisa as a potential threat, a decision that could potentially be costly as unknown to Sasha was that the small girl was a Level 3 Electromaster.

She lunged forward, almost matching the speed you'd expect from a bullet. What Gou saw momentarily was a red streak of blur as it traveled towards him at alarming speed. With a left hook that would have ordinarily created a small tremor had she not taken the nails across her shoulders, she jabbed at Gou's stomach.

Windowless Building

Jack Nightingale warped.

A second ago he was at the shopping district being apprehended by two girls and now he found himself hanging upside down a meter above the floor before gravity pulled him down towards it. With a loud thud he collided with the floor of pipes and various machinery. The room was dark with a faint spot light hanging above him, following his movement as he moved around highly disorientated. He didn't sense any presence in the vicinity of where he was warped to. Everything was artificial but what he could sense was despite how artificial his surroundings felt like, the machines he stood on sounded very much alive as though he was stuck inside a giant arteries.

If Jack felt this was an unpleasant sensation to experience he was in for a nasty surprise as something warped on top of him, two pairs of slender legs and...

Before he could make out what it was, he felt a powerful blow right in the middle of his forehead as Awaki stamped her foot against his face, squashing Jack's eyes under her heel.

"You perverted old f..." She broke off her sentence as she felt sick, no matter how often she did this she could never get used to the idea of teleporting herself due to the trauma she suffered as a child. Her hands immediately tried to cover her mouth but it was too late as contents of her breakfast reunited with Awaki as it spilled on top of Jack's clothing.

Vegetable salad from the looks of it. At least she was eating healthy?

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Tue May 06, 2014 9:57 am

“What the hell…!?“
His understanding of this situation was crushed, upon seeing the girl’s gruesome act. In a seemingly painful way she drove two nails, one in each of her shoulders. Expecting blood Gou was surprised that once again there was none to be seen, not a single drop. Just what was that? The shock he felt at the second he saw the scene was impossible to describe, his body felt numb, his eyes widened. No matter how hard he would try, imagining the pain such an action would bring to the person inflicting such a wound to themselves, he was rendered absolutely useless for a moment.

Just what was that? His mind was blank. He couldn’t focus. It was just too absurd, too cruel. Too much.
He was breathing slowly, trying to comprehend, trying to overcome that image. It wasn’t weakness he had shown in that moment, it was simply that he wasn’t used to such a thing. Anyone would have crumbled before such images. At least for someone in this city this would still work like a psychological attack. Maybe the outside world was different. Maybe it was comparable to an injection.
No, injections were different…

Suddenly that girl came. Fast like a bullet she was charging towards Gou. The boy still standing there in shock tried his most to react, forcing all the muscles in his body to move. But it was too late. She was too fast, he couldn’t even comprehend such physical ability, never having seen anything similar. Disappearing from his eyesight for a moment it seemed like an impossible task for him to track her movements. His instincts told him to defend and so he tried…

Too slow. It hit just like a rocket piercing into his belly. Spitting because he couldn’t hold it, his breath was forced out of his lungs, while is body was bent over the fist. He had underestimated her. That small body, looking fragile, flimsy, how could it build up such strength? Did it have to do something with those nails she used to stab herself? Was that some kind of hyper acupuncture? He remembered seeing a show about such theories one night watching TV when he couldn’t sleep. Back then he thought such things were only stupid ideas, invented by crazy people. But wasn’t it possible?
His arms lost strength. He had tried to use them to shield his stomach, now they had lost their purpose.

It hurt. It hurt terribly. Just like back then. It was the same as that time. The same as always. Once again he was beaten, just like back then. Wasn’t he used to be beaten up already? This wasn’t the first time. Well, it was the first time that he was beaten up by a smaller girl, wasn’t it?
”I…warned…you. Now…don’t expect…mercy.” Forcing out the words he spoke, he tried to step back, slowly, still affected by the unexpected and overpowered punch. His pride was hurt. Yet if he had known about the truth it would have hurt even more…

Post  Aleister Crowley on Wed May 07, 2014 12:01 am

The pale figure hung suspended within the enormous machine in front of Jack and Awaki. It was the figure of the man who had redefined magic. The man known to the world as Aleister Crowley.

After an interminable time had passed in unbearable silence he spoke.

"Jack Nightingale." Crowley had said. He did not move, even to look at the man he addressed. And yet it was as though his eyes were upon them both at all times. As though nothing escaped his gaze. "I would have you know that your arrival was not unexpected."

It had taken Academy City's agents less than an hour to track him down. But for how long had they been aware of him? Had his secrecy been an illusion from the start? Could it even be possible that Aleister Crowley had divined his very purpose before he had even set foot in the city's walls? In a few words heavy with meaning the pale man had suggested so much.

They couldn't save the man. They were too late. How pathetic, Chisa thought, angry at herself. It was their duty to protect civilians, to protect order. This seemingly cold girl didn't care about their authority. That was her second mistake. Her first one was to hurt that blond man in the first place. Unforgivable.

The eyes of the short Tokiwadai-student grew, as her enemy started to perforate herself with those strange nails. What... was that? Some kind of acupuncture to amplify her esper-ability or something? She saw many scary abilities in this scientific city, but this seemed to be a terrifying one. The little girl made her move and Chisa flinched. She was too quick, she couldn't... The criminal aimed for Furuhashi-San. The little girl saw, how the red-clothed girl punched him with a bullet-like speed. What kind of ability was that?!

Furuhashi-san stumbled back, but he still spat out the words: ”I…warned…you. Now…don’t expect…mercy.” He still... The blonde girl glared at her enemy. Chisa felt how her angriness returned and replaced her fear. This little... In the  next moment, crackling sparks shot out of her whole body. Chisa noticed how the tall boy created a distance between him and the enemy. She didn't need  to hold back. Without waiting one second, Chisa fired an electric shockwave at  the girl.

"GO AWAY FROM HIM!"

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Jack Nightingale on Sat May 10, 2014 1:13 am

The girl wearing the skimpy clothing sighed. Rather than seeming worried about the presence of the Judgement officers, she appeared to just be slightly annoyed. Proceeding to ignore the Judgement officers, the schoolgirl spoke to the nun in an extremely casual tone that was not at all suitable for the current situation. Well, not that Jack's in a position to speak regarding that. "Well it's your mess so I'll let you deal with the pursuers. Stall them for a bit ciao~." As she said that, she waved her flashlight like a wand and Jack, disappeared.

Next thing he knew, he was upside, a meter in the air. "...Huh?" he said, dumbstruck. Then gravity, a cruel mistress, dragged him down, face first. He landed with a loud bang, and found the floor, rather than being flat, was constructed from a great many pipes and other machinery. After he spent a moment holding onto his face, enduring the pain, he looked around and observed his surroundings. There was a faint light that hovered above him and had no discernible source. It followed him as he moved, and it was quite disorienting. He could not see any walls or ceiling with the dim lighting, and because the light followed him, he couldn't use that as a reference point either. On top of them, it didn't seem like anyone was around, so asking for directions wasn't an option. What shot both his guard and his curiosity up through the roof, however, was the sense of dissonance the machines gave off. Despite being obviously artificial, they seemed alive somehow. It felt vaguely like he was inside a giant artery.

Before he could ponder anymore, however, he was interrupted. Quite rudely. He looked up and saw a pair of slender legs. His mind drew a blank. Before he had a chance to gather his thoughts and comprehend what he just saw, a foot landed on his face, and the shoe that was on the foot was jammed into his eye. He quickly lost his balance and both he and whoever had landed on top of him fell to the ground. As they fell, Jack noticed that it was the skimpy clothing girl from the street who had landed on top of them. He was about to protest for the sake of his crushed eye, but was cut off. "You perverted old f..." and then she, in turn, was cut off by a stream of vomit. She tried to hold it back, but it was too late. Which, of course, fell neatly onto Jack's shirt. He looked down, with a grim look on his face, and said "Yep. Someone definitely cursed me when I wasn't looking." He then proceeded to address the young girl before. "You... I'm not happy about it, but I'll forgive the vomit. That was likely beyond your control, and you tried to keep it down. I'll ignore that you called me perverted as well, because that was called for, if I almost saw what I think I almost saw. But, I will not back down on one thing. One thing only. I. Am. Not. Old. I'm 24." he finished his rant, and seemed a fair bit happier now that he had vented all the stress he'd accumulated over the past ten minutes or so.

But then, something he had somehow failed to notice before caught his attention. There was an enormous machine in front of him, and floating inside of it, was a beautiful man. He was upside down for some reason, and did not move, even to blink. "Jack Nightingale." Those were the first words he heard the man speak. Even as he spoke, he remained still. He didn't even look in his direction. But even so, it felt as if he was watching him, intently. Not letting anything he did escape his notice. "I would have you know that your arrival was not unexpected." he continued. Those words held a great many implications. He'd been tracked down almost immediately after he entered the city, but the man spoke of his arrival itself. It implied that he knew the man knew that Jack would enter the city even before he arrived. The first explanation he came up with was that the man before him had monitored him or the cabal reserve army who had tried to hire him. Then he thought a bit more, and thought that perhaps the cabal reserve army had all just been a front put up by him from the beginning. Then he abandoned that train of thought as it quickly began to enter the realm of conspiracy theories. Instead, as he focused his attention on the man before him, even forgetting the vomit on his shirt and the still-present girl who gave him that wonderful gift, and began asking questions. "Seeing how this building has no windows, and the skimpy-clothing girl said something about taking me to the 'head honcho', I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're Aleister Crowley, and this is the famous Windowless Building. So, why am I here?"

Surge of electricity entered her body like a hot butter knife cutting through soft butter, the pain trickled into her limbs faster than she could scream but she neither produced sound to scream nor was her body jolting from the sparks fed into her by Chisa's attacks. Was it effective? Chisa couldn't tell, most ordinary people would have sprawled on the ground when a stun gun electrocuted them yet the small nun was very much conscious and alerted of Chisa's presence. As if anticipating another attack the nun backflipped several times and created a fair distance from Chisa and Gou.

Sasha breathed steadily trying to recompose herself, contrary to what she allowed her pursuers to believe she hadn't felt as much pain as she was showing. It was a mild sensation compared to that she grew up with in the past where her small body had been exposed to various experimentations. All according to Vasilissa's orders, when engaged with Anti-Skill or Judgment officers she had to keep her powers in check and play the role of a Level 3 Esper.

After gaining a breather she reinforced her legs to continue her assault, only this time she was ready to take out Chisa first rather than allowing her to pick at her from a distance. With overwhelming speed she planned on committing herself to a feint before launching an elbow to the back of Chisa's head in order to knock her out but she was stopped by a vibrating pouch producing a very distinct ringtone...

Sasha's Ringtone~♫

The embarassed nun picked it up immediately before it reached an interlude and after nodding to the person on the other line she hung up.

Wiping the flush from her face she pulled out the nails stuck inside her shoulders and raised her right fist into the air and crashed it onto the ground, creating a miniscule shock as if the neighborhood was suffering an earthquake. The roadside was immediately turned into crushed cement and gravel filling up a small crater as dust kicked up in the air. Using the confusion and veiled by the dust Sasha made her get away into the alleyways to regroup with Awaki leaving her assailants behind to deal with the property damage reports.

Re: [SS] District 15: Encounter

Post  Furuhashi Gou on Sun May 11, 2014 12:49 pm

Recovering from that hit, was as hard as it seemed. First he had to overcome the pain, then he had to regain control over his breathing. This was too much. Who on earth was that bondage girl? What kind of power did she have? Was all that really caused by some hyper acupuncture that would strengthen one’s muscles way over the human limit? Whatever it was, Gou couldn’t stop staring at her. She was the enemy he wished to bring down the most.

That Fuyuki-san did a great job using the situation offered by he successful attack, launching some kind of lightning at their opponent. Of course a flash like that was nothing unexpected in Academy City. Actually this power was something known to everyone. Electro Master, wasn’t it? Even the lower levels of this power had a really terrifying strength to it. Thinking about the fact, however, that there was a Level 5 using that ability, it made one shudder.
Hit by this attack, however, the red nun proved that she was even more frightening than expected. Any normal person would have been struck to the ground upon a direct hit like that. No sign of pain, no change in her movements. Did it even affect her at all? Her skilled back-flip really crushed their hopes. No one human being would be able to move like that just after being hit by electricity of that level? Even if he couldn’t measure, Gou expected the Tokiwadai girl to at least shoot something of the strength a stun gun would have…

”Keep yourself…together…”, he mumbled, forcing his body to move as well. If that girl could, maybe he could as well? Giving up just like that was ridiculous, it would only hurt his pride even further. Sweating, facing difficulties when breathing the grey haired boy tried to build up a new battle stance, brave as he was, he tried to face what most definitely surpassed even his imagination.
Never in his life he had faced anything like that. A strength unknown to him. A person as frightening and ice-cold as this girl in front of them. She was far from their league, it seemed. Maybe even he, as a Level 4 Esper wouldn’t be able to put much harm to her, as such an direct hit by a lightning could only cause slight damage. ”Damn it.” His fierce gaze focused on this girl. She would come again, that he could tell. And once she would come disaster would come over them. Her speed surpassed imagination, so did her strength and even her endurance was something not to be underestimated. But maybe there was a way? ”Those nails…”, he tried to tell the blonde next to him, using only short words. His idea however should be understood easily: The nails in her shoulders may have been the source of her power? At least that’s what he suspected. So maybe if they somehow managed to get rid of them, their chances would grow?
Was it worth a try?

As expected, the girl game. Charging forward, now aiming for a new target, fitting Gou’s expectations. He had proven rather useless against her, while the blonde Electro Master had already caused some minor damage to their opponent, so of course the bondage girl would aim for her, in order to get rid of the more troubling one. Exactly the thing he tried to work with. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to rival her speed, yet he still hoped to be able to attack just the moment after her attack, or even during her attack – even though that seemed close to impossible. Just when her movement would stop, he would get her, trying to grab her and unleash his ability’s frightening potential. At least that was his plan…

A plan that would never succeed. The moment the terrifying attack was about to begin, suddenly an all to familiar sound rang out. ”Ka-Kanamin…?” Outing himself as someone who indeed knew the popular series quite well, Gou’s face presented a puzzled expression. What was going on? Just then that bondage girl from his deepest nightmares took out a phone from her pocket and the moment she pressed the button, the sound – which actually was a ring tone – stopped. Silence. Everything stood still. The nun listened to what the person calling said and then nodded. Nothing happened.
She then simply removed both nails from her shoulders, as if to show that there was no need to fight. Hit by absolute surprise the tall Judgement boy just stood there, having lost his concept. ”Huh…?” Only the sound of question could be heard from his mouth, as he couldn’t believe himself what he saw just now.

Her fist hit the ground, crushing the last bit of hope the boy had found within his theory. So the nails didn’t strengthen her? The force emitted by that one punch exceeded his expectations. This was even worse than before. So she went easy on them? The ground was shaking, breaking, just like an earthquake, just like what his own ability could cause, yet for some reason even stronger only through a mere punch.

He stood there, staring after her. Could they call themselves lucky? He couldn’t help but release a sigh of relief. Luck was on their side today, wasn’t it? Well, the culprits were able to escape, as well as one of them had taken a hostage. However they were still alive and had gained something more important than anything else: Information. Maybe Anti-Skill could handle the situation, as both of them were unable to do so…
Defeat? That bad taste left in his mouth was the only negative thing he could feel. Oh well, his hurting stomach was another thing…

"Seeing how this building has no windows, and the skimpy-clothing girl said something about taking me to the 'head honcho', I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're Aleister Crowley, and this is the famous Windowless Building. So, why am I here?"

"You've already overstepped your boundaries by coming here. Is it wise to make demands when you are already on such unsteady ground?" Though his tone was so placcid that it sounded like a sort of playful taunt there was an undeniable threat that crept through Aleister Crowley's carefully chosen words. "I intend to make you aware of that before you dare to make any foolhardy moves. The possibility exists that the balance of power between Magic and Science could be disrupted by one such thoughtless action." He continued on in vague terms, obfuscating his true intentions beneath hidden meanings.

"A war between the two would be costly on both sides. Surely a man such as yourself would do anything to stop such a catastrophe coming to pass?"

"You've already overstepped your boundaries by coming here. Is it wise to make demands when you are already on such unsteady ground?" said Aleister. The way he spoke made it sound like he was making a playful taunt, but the words themselves indicated otherwise. "I intend to make you aware of that before you dare to make any foolhardy moves. The possibility exists that the balance of power between Magic and Science could be disrupted by one such thoughtless action." he continued. He seemed to be being deliberately vague, obscuring his true intentions beneath hidden meanings. "A war between the two would be costly on both sides. Surely a man such as yourself would do anything to stop such a catastrophe coming to pass?"

"A demand? It seemed like a perfectly reasonable question to me." replied Jack. "You went through the trouble of having me brought here, so you must have some business with me. I just wanted get straight to the point. Formalities have no point, after all." He paused for a moment, and considered how he should respond to the remainder of the man's words. They could be taken as an extremely thinly veiled threat. Then again, while that might be true, with it being just one of an impossibly large number of interpretations, there's no point in acting on that assumption, or any other for that matter. So in the end, he just decided to take it at face value. "Rest assured, I am well aware of the tension between the two sides. I have no intention of doing anything to tip that balance. A war would be a huge pain, after all. Plus, tons of interesting people and things would be wiped off the face of the earth." He spoke nonchalantly, like it wasn't his problem. A glance at his face, however, would immediately dispel any such ideas. While his expression appeared calm, the vibe it gave off was another thing entirely. It was like that of a lioness whose cubs had just been threatened. Continuing, he said "Anything that could potentially cause such a result would have to be crushed preemptively."
