It would normally be considered poor etiquette to stop and stare. Such actions generally made people lose faith in the humanity of others, both due to the combination of bystander effect and the forceful violation of dignity it caused to the focal point of attention. At the very least, that was what counted for normal. But, certain times, nobody could blame people for stopping and staring.

At the very least, that’s what Higuchi Pharmacies Neuropharmaceutical Department’s young lobby receptionist, who was all ready close down shop for the night were it not for the boss’s stringent hours, let run through her head. After all, one can’t violate dignity when the focal point had willingly stripped themselves of it on their own. That was how she (and anyone else whose gaze had fallen upon the sight in question) probably rationalized it.

Regardless, as her gaze darted over the absurdly dressed girls (especially the blonde who seemed to be doing everything she could to maintain composure), she chortled for a beat (much to the blonde’s dismay) before returning to a calm and trying to figure out what to do.

After all, this was well outside of protocol.

Moreover…

Something’s not right here at all.

Of course, that thought understated the absurdity of what was unfolding. Clearly, this was not just some pimp and her prostitutes paying a visit to a client. These girls didn’t exude the proper aura for that kind of work, especially the antsy blonde one.

Maintaining her affected, professional smile the best she could, she spoke up. “Please hold a second.”

She picked up the landline on the desk and dialed a number before waiting a few seconds. She waited as the phone rang and rang on the other end until the voice mail finally intervened. With that, she realized that the person who she was calling was not available and remembered something.

“I’m terribly sorry. I think the president said a while back that he would be heading out early. He’s currently nowhere near his desk and his receptionist doesn’t seem to be answering. Would you like me to direct you to someone else?” She said to her guests with a professional’s patented smile, all while keeping the twitching blonde in her eye.

Annoying. That was all it was in Mugino’s eyes. They had gone through this act of putting on this charade and what for? To be told off by some low-paid young blood office slave? Annoying. Fortunately, causing a scene here would not lead them anywhere they desired. If they wouldn’t fix it now the entire infiltration could be labelled a failure. And certainly, that was the most annoying aspect of it all. Another failure was intolerable.

«No, he is right there. Ready to have us. Do you understand

The mood had gone a straight 180. As she bent her torso over the counter yet again, Mugino Shizuri’s entire demeanour changed, baring her true nature. She was not simply threatening, she was absolutely horrendous. This went beyond the levels of any street level dominatrix, crossing the domain of a simple robber and arriving at certain death territory. She wasn’t simply trying to threaten that clerk, she was obviously telling them: «Comply or you’ll wish to see no tomorrow.»

Yet, she did it in a smart way. Neither would she allow for the security guards nearby to notice that anything was out of the ordinary, nor would she be dumb enough to not expect the other side to make use of the means they had. In fact, she already knew the most likely step that clerk was about to take and answer appropriately. Having had access to quite many of the building’s blue prints, she had exact knowledge of the alarm button’s position and structure. As such, she would simply use her powers to deal with it, creating a slim hardly noticeable Meltdowner beam that’d simply pass through the counter’s exterior and interior, cutting apart all there was for an external connection for that button, all the while creating a boiling hot hole in the process.

«Sooo, can we stop making him wait~?»

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

Where she had been leaning on the reception desk, she was able to see the exchange between Mugino and the receptionist. Having been in this situation more than once considering how ITEM gets around, it wasn't hard for even the absent-minded Takitsubo to understand what to do next. Though it was hard to tell since that same apathetic expression would make anyone guess what she was thinking.

Though without concern or worry, Takitsubo waltzed over towards the guards near the gate. She then looked at them with a blank stare before asking a very simple question.

"Hey? Want to see what's under my trench coat?" she asked waiting for an answer only for a moment before dropping her trench coat to the ground. Not thinking about their reaction or anyone else's she was revealed to be wearing the same tracksuit top, but a new pair of pink and white shorts.

Though her face didn't show it, how she stood standing proudly showing off her new shorts.

"What you think?" she asked making sure the guards were paying attention.

There was only so far the mask of the professional could get her, though. Despite being a simple wage slave at a reception desk, the slender, bony fingers of the grim reaper making their way around her did not elude her attention. Clearly, it was overshadowing her relief that she was not working under someone who would hire prostitutes in the very office he worked.

Her eyes quickly shifted to the security guards, but they had been quickly pre-occupied with the girl who was currently making a show of dropping her trench coat to reveal surprisingly conservative clothing.

Quickly, they returned back to the dominatrix issuing the threat. All her lifelines had been severed or placed behind a terrible and impassable barrier.

One could only wonder what was going through her head if the words ‘they don’t pay me enough to deal with this stuff’ weren’t.

Without taking her eyes away from her hostage-taker, she took a deep, albeit staggered and nervous exhale.

“I understand.” There was no real protocol for this kind of thing, really, and her life mattered more than her job when it boiled down to it.

“Let me create a guest ID one of you can scan onto a phone,” she said, reaching over to the monitor and turning it slightly enough so her captors could see before starting to pull up some sort of ID system. After about half a minute of typing and clicking, she finally spoke up with instructions.

“Tap your phone to the screen and you should have general access to anywhere with a panel now. If you want to enter, you’re going to need to show the ID to the scanner by the entry turnstiles.” Obviously, she was referring to the turnstiles the security guards were standing by. “The president’s office should have a panel nearby its door as well.”

Keeping silent, Frenda simply looked to Mugino, waiting for her to decide what to do next.

«Thank you very much~!»

Her tongue poisonous as ever, Mugino would reward the clerk with such a heavily faked friendly smile that its lethalness would weigh upon them for the hours to come. However, that once again was a necessity to ensure their silence over everything that had happened. Even once they would have left that woman’s perimeter, she shouldn’t be allowed to forget what would be coming her way if she messed this up. Whether or not she truly understood that would be up to her, though.

Done with the talking, the #4 would turn back towards her posse who had done their share of the job excellently well. The path to their intrusion had been secured, thus she could flush them a contempt smile.

«We’re not done yet. Let’s go.»

Yet, she would also be the one to shatter the relief right about the next moment. Having taken the required ID for herself, as she was the leader of the bunch, she would naturally also be the one to step towards the inner entrance the moment everything had been cleared up in her books. The guards would no longer pose a problem and neither would the electronic security. That was, if everything had been prepared in the proper way. However, she felt as though that was guaranteed, given that any negative results would immediately transform into a major blowback towards the one who had prepared it. She knew and they knew.

Thus, she would step past the security guards and towards the turnstiles, flashing the newly gained ID card as though she was a long-term regular. Ready to go.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Kinuha12
Wearing rags was definitely not the most comfortable situation to be in but at least it was better than what two of her companions were wearing. The pants were to tight and the shirt was a bit too big but it was better than a microbikini and a dominatrix outfit. To make matters worse Frenda was visibly embarrassed by the outfit she was wearing, which really wasn't helping the idea they were trying to get across to the woman on the other side of the desk. Mugino on the other hand seemed to fit her outfit perfectly, almost as if it was a visible part of her personality.

Saiai watched as the events at the front desk went down. It seemed as if their plan was falling apart at the seams as the clerk told them the president wasn't in the building. However, there are certain people who never take no as an answer and always get what they want. Needless to say Mugino was one of them and as their leader approached the desk to make demands the girl in rags knew where the conversation was going.

With the alarm button disabled and Takisubo's performance distracting the guards by dropping her trench coat their was nothing the woman could do but give into the Meltdowner's command. After all refusing Mugino would've most likely been a death sentence for not just the salary woman but any other unfortunate civilians that got caught in her rage. Saiai shuddered slightly at the thought of that destruction.

"To the super president's office"

There was no time to savor the relief of getting the ID despite the obstacles that opposed them as their dominatrix leader gave her orders. Kinuhata quickly followed behind Mugino as she made her way past the guards and towards the turnstile. With the ID now in hand they could begin with the next part of their plan.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Frenda12

This had been a very confusing night for the two guards who were standing by the turnstiles that served as the final barrier between the outside world and the innards of the company who owned the buildings. It was inevitable that at least one of them was thinking that they didn’t get paid enough to deal with what was going on before them. While the sentiment was probably accurate, they dared not let the thought escape their lips.

Needless to say, the antics of the girl who had dropped her trenchcoat were confusing to say the least. Unfortunately, their day was bound to get weirder as their gazes, transfixed upon the track suit girl, was shifted to three new people. The woman in the dominatrix outfit and her colleagues who had followed behind ranked even higher in the ‘shit they didn’t want to deal with’ archetype laid out in their heads.

Despite the fact that they had IDs for the building, they didn’t have anything worth calling a proper dress code. But, there was no way they were willing to call it out at this point.

“Just tap it against the scanner and the turnstile will unlock.” One of them spoke up with a hint of exasperation in his voice.

“Oh, thank god,” Frenda said, promptly grabbing at her seemingly bare neck and pulling what looked like her skin down. Luckily for all involved, what was being pulled down was skin-colored tights covered in a microbikini. Underneath said tights was a simple blue top and white skirt—an outfit far more fitting and far, far less risque for someone her age.

The guards breathed a slight sigh of relief. While there were many things they should have questioned, they really did not want to.

Such was the apathy of a wage slave.

And thanks to that apathy, the way into that building was finally open to ITEM. Once they entered behind the turnstiles, they would just need to enter either one of the six elevators, three to the left and right, or the staircase on wall furthest away from the entrance.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

It was at its core a very normal experience for the four girls of ITEM. Takitsubo had un-shamefully followed from behind past the final barrier that stops them from proceeding with their mission. Though getting past it only solved the easiest problem of the night. While she wasn't the most active and taking charge sort of member, she would at least guide the group onto the task at hand.

"We have to find our targets among four buildings?" she spoke with no expression as she gestured towards the brick-like pedestal in the middle of the room with the elevators and the staircase was past it on the far back wall.

"Floor plan? Camera control on the second floor? Walkways on every 10th floor? Locker rooms?" she questioned as she approached it too check.

"Not everything is here though. We should go to these security offices." she confirmed some of the knowledge they knew about these buildings and pointed towards the security office on the map. Though knowing their way around didn't solve the problem of finding out who their targets were and where they are in these building complex.

The walkways provided access to the other three buildings without having to go through the receptions again; though they were basically the entrance to what was essentially a vertical maze.

"Human resources?" she questions towards her fellow girls while also checking the floor plan for its location in the building. Though the question lacked context. She had a good reason for asking though she failed to express her thoughts on the matter. They had to figure out the identities of who they were hunting and they could retrieve clues from the data logs kept in that office. Like employees data and recent entries.

It also means that they may not have to torture someone who might not know anything at all.

Finally, having boarded the elevator to their next destination, Mugino Shizuri took the liberty to heave an annoyed sigh while crossing her arms in front of her heavily accentuated chess.

«To think that this plan nearly failed. You really lack sex-appeal. Especially you, Frenda.»

As she spoke, she’d click her tongue to make her personal annoyance even more visible. If it hadn’t been for her taking over everything would have just crumbled apart right there in the lobby. But fortunately, quick reactions were something she had in her repertoire, along with the right means to shrink any obstacle into a minor pushover.

She wouldn’t stop there, though.

«Maybe we should’ve given you the real deal to wear instead and trained you properly. Walking through the Dianoid like that for an entire day should do the job? Or maybe actually changing you now? Sounds like a satisfying punishment game, if you ask me, Frenda.»

Clearly that girl hadn’t forgotten the events of the billiards parlor just yet, nor would she anytime soon. Punishment was unavoidable with the likes of her. After all, that was who Academy City’s #4 Esper was: An unforgiving calamity, ready to thrust all those defying her into utter misery.

«There is still time until the elevator’s doors open~»

Without any further ado she would already come, charging straight towards the petite blonde, her violent claws ready to violently tear away the very fibres of her clothes.

Ambush time…!!

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Kinuha12

«To think that this plan nearly failed. You really lack sex-appeal. Especially you, Frenda.»

Saiai resented that remark, she truly did. This was none other than the outfit of the infamous Sea Kelp Girl from famous director Takitsusawa Sawage's cult favorite movie, Seaweed and Me: A Nutritional Romance Three Fathoms Below. Lost in the Sea Kelp City, enemy of the heroine Kombu Girl's Kombu City in the Seaweed War that had spanned centuries, the protagonist is alone and afraid, but finds solace and shelter with the beautiful Sea Kelp Girl.

Actress Yamazo Mike's performance had been a thing of wonder. A former idol, Seaweed and Me was her first foray into film as she attempted to break into the entertainment industry. Although some critics criticized her, claiming that she used her body in lieu of any real acting talent, it was enough for Saiai to wonder if their eyes worked okay. The emotion in that voice! Those teary eyes!

For not only those critics but even Mugino to fail to realize the greatness of her current appeal, emulating Mike-sama herself, it was enough for Saiai to despair over how uncultured society had become. Though... Perhaps it was true that she wasn't quite giving her best. Would Yamazo Mike had given up here? What would Director Takitsusawa do to draw out her appeal?!

She thought. She thought, and thought, and thought, and came to a conclusion.

"Mugino, Mugino. I'll swap outfits with Frenda."

Tugging on Mugino's sleeve, Saiai unhesitatingly interrupted Mugino's planning with a suggestion of her own. She didn't clarify what she was planning beyond what she had already said, simply staring at Mugino and waiting for her response.

"I will live up to Director Takitsusawa's expectations!"

But that said.

With that overly enthusiastic glint in her eyes, Frenda was sure to be in for an exciting elevator ride no matter what happened...

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Frenda12

Frenda wanted to question why Takitsubo had chosen to go with human resources as a target. It was highly unlikely that their targets were in general part of the company that they were hiding in, beyond tangential relations. If anything, it was more likely that this was being used as a checkpoint before proceeding to the next one.

She wanted to question that, but Fate (read as: Mugino) had different plans for her.

«To think that this plan nearly failed. You really lack sex-appeal. Especially you, Frenda.»

I have plenty, thank you very much! Don’t discount the powers of a girl’s sharply honed legs!

Of course, once again, she’d have to have been a bona fide idiot to have said that. After all, her superior’s near sing-song voice and her fellow adherent of the leg’s enthusiastic agreement to it all (and the last one’s complete lack of presence) put her squarely at the whims of the tyranny of the majority.

At the very least, that’s what she thought.

But, the girl had made numerous parallel plans in anticipation. For once in her life, she would not be blindsided by the whims of the other girls.

She quickly took a knee as she pulled out two outfits from places best left a trade secret. One was Mugino’s regular outfit—something that was far more befitting of someone of her stature and poise than what she was currently wearing. It was her first and hopefully last necessary attempt at appeasing the grand tyrant. The other, directed towards the movie buff, was the neatly folded skintight bodysuit and microbikini that she had been wearing only under 300 seconds prior.

She avoided looking them eyes as she kept her gaze focused downwards, hoping to maintain an aura of subservience and keep the illusion of her position as being lower than dirt for just a little longer. As much as she hated to do this, it was necessary if she wanted to get out of this unscathed. She had to play the long game.

But, as she held those outfits out much like a servant to her king, a thought crossed her mind.

Wait...where would we even be allowed to change? The bathrooms are on the other side of the turnstiles!

Despite that thought coming into her head and the further implications taking root in her mind, she knew she would, once again, be a complete idiot to try and say that out loud.

In the end, the security guards who could likely still see them would have their limits on what they could accept and things were going downhill towards that line at breakneck speeds.

Was there any hope for sanity to break through the downward spiral brought forth by Mugino’s seething rage?

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

She would normally watch the other girls from the sidelines as they continued their game of cat and mouse around Mugino's emotions though Takitsubo had a bad feeling. She couldn't explain it and probably wouldn't able to describe it in words.

She even looked around aimlessly for a moment trying to understand it and felt remaining here any longer would result in their disadvantage.

The more noise they made without any real progress risked alerting their targets before they were even ready.

So she wandered towards the lifts and called for two of them. It was hard to understand what she was planning though it seemed obvious she had felt they should continue moving.

"I could provide a distraction at the security office." she mentioned with her tired expression as she watched the numbers above the lift countdown towards their level. It would give them time to get change and allow them to take the security out while they were distracted without much noise.

"You all then could get changed in the lift and follow soon after?" she offered the suggestion as the lift doors on her left opened. She would turn towards the other girls and retaining the same lethargic demeanour she would look towards Mugino waiting for approval.

«Again, there’s no need for that Takitsubo~»

Mugino spoke in smug amusement, revealing a card that until now had remained entirely hidden.

«They have been watching us the entire time, haven’t they?»

So that was what she had been thinking. The elevator was very likely to have at least one hidden camera somewhere where they wouldn’t even be able to find it in the first place. However, that gave them the chance to present themselves in the eyes of the security guards, heavily influencing assessment of the unexpected visitors. Right now, they must have been looking like a band of childish idiots to them, incapable and entirely unthreatening. Or would anyone see teenage girls fighting over the costumes they wore as anything remarkably dangerous for a high-grade company’s professional security outfit?

«But let’s go pay them a visit together, Takitsubo. Until we’re done Kinuhata and Frenda should have enough time to chance...thoroughly. I doubt they would mind that kind of distraction. Not that they would have much of it anyway~»

Truly, the sight of a girl’s naked skin was something hardly any man could resist. Given how there was still a gender inequality in the profession of security guards, the assumption would surely play off rather well. By the once-in-a-life-time experience of becoming an entirely guilt-free peeping Tom they would be distracted perfectly well, be granted one last bout of happiness and then die like flies taking the memory with them into their grave. No losses made.

Besides, there was no need for Mugino to change, had she already come to grow rather fond of that attire of hers.

If nobody would be brave enough to oppose that sudden plan of hers, she would already be going straight for the security room.

«But let’s go pay them a visit together, Takitsubo. Until we’re done Kinuhata and Frenda should have enough time to change...thoroughly. I doubt they would mind that kind of distraction. Not that they would have much of it anyway~»

Any hopes for sanity Frenda might have would certainly be dashed.

With an calm, affable smile that betrayed little to none of the excitement that shone in her eyes, Saiai took the blonde-haired girl by the hand and took her into the elevator. Even without Mugino's orders, this destination was a foregone conclusion. The bathrooms were too far away, possessed too much potential for interruption: her art would not forgive any mistakes.

"Sea Kelp Girl, Sea Kelp Girl..."

This feverish muttering, the emotion in which almost completely failed to reflect in Saiai's reflection, might have ensured that Frenda had some idea of what was going on. It might have tipped her off to what kind of thing was going to happen. It might have triggered an attempt to escape.

But while the vice-grip of Mugino's hand upon her skull was the one she knew best, in ITEM, the Meltdowner's grip strength was still ultimately only second best. That crown belonged to none other than Offence Armor, Kinuhata Saiai. No matter how desperately she struggled, no matter she did, regardless of how she screamed or cried or dragged her feet upon the floor, inexorably, Frenda Seivelun would be dragged into the impromptu changing room that the elevator had now become.

...
...

On the part of those poor men manning the surveillance room, they would be treated to a sight from hell—or perhaps heaven? It was, in honesty, difficult to say which might be a more apt description.

No resistance was allowed. Clothes were torn, ripped from the body!

Limbs bent, bodies pinned, skulls shaken and hearts broken.

All so that the artistic vision of Director Takitsusawa would be realized here!

Surely, at least undergarments must have been flashed, if not more. But somehow, mysteriously, no matter how much they strained their eyes and shouted at the screen, there was nothing to be seen.

Between splashes of water, clothing flying in the way of the camera, and the angles of their bodies, it all remained hidden. Even though there should have been no way for Saiai or Frenda to know the location of the camera.

And as if that wasn't enough to get their attention, there was also that—yes, that. That and those things had no business being in that elevator. Where did she even? How does that even work? What is she doing to her... Oh, gods!

Between the unspeakable events and the star-defying black hole-like gravitational attraction of the forces of chirarism, the two of them accomplished more than simply drawing the guards' eyes to cover Mugino's approach. Perhaps, by the time she arrived, the men on duty might have already become brain-dead husks...

Upon asking for comment, Suspect B only had this to say: "You're a hundred years super too early to see this Kinuhata-sama in the flesh. Try to at least graduate to the level of a multi-cellular organism, first."

...
...

Rags, not from the street but from the bottom of the sea. Dripping wet with nothing(?) underneath, it showed the full outline of her body, but not nothing more.

It fit tighter on her than it did on Saiai, emphasizing further her chest, waist, and hips. The moisture further provided an accent that simply couldn't be seen while dry, and completed the image: a maiden, leagues beneath the sea, her only worldly possessions these clothes from the surface above, finally arriving at the bottom of the sea after being washed about in the ocean currents for untold ages...

But in the end, what made it a masterpiece. What made it art. Yes, the reason for which Frenda had been chosen as the model, the cornerstone in bringing it all together and completing the vision that Director Takitsusawa had given birth to and Kinuhata Saiai had taken it upon herself to inherit, was...

"It fits you super well, like I thought. With this, Director's Takitsusawa's long-held vision has finally been made reality...!"

Nodding to herself as she appraised her handiwork with the expression and mannerisms of a true connoisseur, she realized once more what she had been lacking.

“Chief, are you seeing this?!” One of the three guards keeping watch of the cameras jolted out of his seat as one hand slammed on the panel below him and the other pointed straight out at the offending screen. From the glow on one of the liquid crystal displays that made up their monitoring deck, the visage of an unfolding hellish scene lay prominent.

It was all in a lone elevator that stayed on the floor of the lobby due to the lack of anyone pressing a button to go further up.

One young girl was screaming bloody murder as a girl and a young woman kept her bound and stripped off her clothes. No, it wasn’t just the young girl being stripped. The one keeping a grip had also been stripping, leaving the cameras displaying a legally dangerous film.

“Tanaka, Morooka!” The one who had stood up and the security officer next to him immediately faced towards the chief who had called their names. “Deal with this and save that girl immediately. We’ll draw the elevator to the next floor up.”

“Understood!” The two of them said before running off to the nearby staircase. As they made their way up to the next floor, they waited in front of the elevator in question, with their hands on the stun gun batons holstered onto their chest.

And, as the elevator finally made it to the third floor, it let out the characteristic ring signaling its position before the doors opened up.

From between those two doors, only one silhouette remained.

Yes, it was the girl who was crying and being stripped. She had been reduced to nothing but rags and to top it all off, she was somewhat wet. Her eyes were utterly downcast and broken, an uncanny reaction to the violation that she had been subjected to. To Tanaka, the resemblance to a character from some old cult classic was brought to mind before being stuffed down to the depths of his brain.

As the two stared at this bizarre sight, as if they were deer caught in headlights, the girl slowly stepped forward until she was out of the elevator doors, her head and eyes shifting up to the eyes of the far taller, though unremarkable, security personnel before her.

“A-are you alright, miss?!” The one named Morooka, as dull and forgettable as he was, immediately approached the broken and raggedy girl before him.

“I…” The girl uttered one word before a single clink sounded from below her.

Those two looked down and saw a single cylindrical object land between them. Before they could react, a flash of light enveloped their vision and a loud sound erupted into their ears.

And then, a pair of thuds, and a seeping and eventually all-encroaching blackness.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Frenda12

Frenda had frowned as she stood above those now unconscious bodies. Her eyes regained some life as she looked down. Something-ka and something-ka the second were hardly a threat but any them being awake would have been worth more trouble than it was worth.

The girl had long since mastered the art of hiding anything and everything under the folds and spaces in her clothing, so it was only natural that her signature opener flash grenade could be easily hidden and dropped.

Despite the punishment and the annoyance, Frenda sighed in some form of relief. She had enough of a back-up plan that she didn’t have to play along with this ridiculous punishment.

I swear, she goes overboard way too much at the worst times.

Once again, not that she’d ever say that out loud.

The moment the elevators moved, they had to act and Frenda gave enough time for ITEM to begin to make their move. Now that any observers were gone, the elevator remained a catbox until the sound her weapon made inevitably brought more people out. Were the other girls there or not?

Had they escaped and began to head towards their targets or had they stayed for the sake of group unity?

It was time for the pieces of the game board to move.

Alea iacta est.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

While the others had somewhat quarreled over their choice of clothing, Takitsubo had seemed to be rather methodological about it. She had dressed before this mission with the idea to solve problems and the trench coat played its part. Wearing the trench coat had tempted the imagination of the male guards about what she had worn beneath the coat and also probably enticed some pervy thoughts.

Now she had changed, though the better way to describe it she had removed more clothes. This time she had removed her tracksuit top and slipped her shorts straight off to reveal her final transformation.

A white t-shirt with red trim sleeves that seemed rather tight around the chest, and more importantly, it was her lower half that would act as the snare to which she now employed being the legendary red bloomers.

She had prepared this new transformation on her way towards the security office with Mugino and had seemed to have abandoned her other clothing along the way. She stopped before the door of the security office and with an expression of indifference she knocked three times.

Knock...
Knock...
Knock...

While she waited for a response she had given little thought to what she would say, though considering what's waiting for those beyond the door it probably didn't matter.

A strategy did not always need to be some perfectly refined masterplan requiring hours or even days of preparation. Sometimes, the simple ploys were what was most efficient.

That’s at last how Mugino Shizuri viewed it, as she made sure to lead herself and Takitsubo Rikou towards the security room, without taking the risk of accidentally crossing paths with eventual guards hurrying towards the elevator. A detour, but perfectly considered in the equation building the foundation for the timing. The timing which would ensure that by the time Takitsubo’s knock would be answered, Frenda’s first strike was just about to go off. The classic distraction play.

And her role in all of that was that of the girl, relaxingly leaning against the wall right next to the door, using simple positioning within a blank spot as the ideal cover. She knew that such a trick wouldn’t last more than just a moment, but that was all she would need. Takitsubo in her alluring attire combined with her natural seemingly helpless demeanour would cause anyone to lose their guard momentarily. A window that could be used to make the counter attack.

The moment someone would step out, her strike would follow immediately after. Grabbing them by whatever she could, immediately covering their mouth with her free hand and using her overwhelmingly brutish strength to pull them out of the door frame into the corridor in their entirety, she would simply proceed to slam their head into the wall full force, hoping to knock them out right away. However, if that simple method wouldn’t suffice, a few more would surely do the job – even if a little too good.

Despite sending the two guards to investigate, the chief couldn’t help but feel uneasy at the scene that had unfolded in front of them. Even after the assailants had vacated from the elevator, leaving the ragged girl completely alone, the chief couldn’t help but keep that uneasiness combined with confusion.

No matter what, something was definitely off about this whole scenario. So, rather than taking any chances, the chief needed to make sure that the event was at least recorded. If worst came to worst, evidence was always the common man’s most reliable weapon.

So, he began to enter a few commands into his keyboard and hit enter right before a sound began to emanate from the door.

Knock…
Knock…
Knock…

The two looked towards the door as the sounds came one by one. The source couldn’t have been the two guards who had been sent out. In that case, who had been at the door?

As that question ran through their minds, the security worker at the camera station quickly shuffled one of the screens to the camera that was outside their door. As the chief and the security worker looked, they saw who was outside—one of the girls who engaged in that forced stripping and a brand new one in bloomers.

Needless to say, the fetish fuel these girls seemed to be wearing only brought confusion to the working men of the establishment.

The chief, tired of the ridiculousness of the situation, stood up, walked to the door, keeping an arm at his side, and opened up the door while his subordinate stayed sitting.

“You people better leave before we call Anti-Skill," he said, placing himself face-to-face with Takitsubo at a distance one could not hesitate to call too close.

The moment he stepped out, the arm of the dominatrix grabbed at his face with unbearable force before he could even react or say another world, covering both his mouth and nose leaving him unable to breathe or speak further. The world seemed to depart from his feet as he felt his body fly off the ground and into the wall behind the two with strength one could only call absurd. But, once that brutish strength had finally released its grip on his face, all that was left was that sweet, reinforced concrete on his face, followed by the abyss as his body slid down to the ground, leaving that security office and its lone occupant completely vulnerable to the girls' madness.

The countdown had begun. Within the security room in another building, camera footage from Building A began to flow in and overtake the screens. It was likely that the other security rooms were receiving this footage as well.

Given the circumstances, company policy dictated that Building A’s security chief had also called Anti-Skill. After all, they were the closest thing the city had to a police force.

But, from within one of those rooms, a single voice resounded among the occasional droplets of blood falling to the floor.

"What are those morons doing?”

The feminine voice held nothing but scorn as its owner looked upon the ludicrous actions the girls of ITEM had performed since their entry into the building. While one could admire the courage (or perhaps recklessness or insanity would be more accurate) of the girls in ITEM who had brazenly entered like this, the owner clearly did not, despite entering in just as brazen a way.

Though, at least she could say that she was under some form of duress, not that excuses were necessary or would be accepted by anyone, let alone herself. She turned her head around to make a quick assessment of all of the damage that had been left behind in the wake of her entry.

Four corpses had been strewn throughout that surveillance room as the workers here had not been as lucky as the two who had encountered Frenda. Blood dropped from the impalement wounds and slashes on their bodies and the walls and floor were defiled with scratches and holes. A bloodied, short, arrow-like spear were all scars of the chaos.

She clutched her head as she kept an eye open and watched her surroundings. Even though things had calmed down, she was nowhere near the point she could say she was out of the fire.

That being said, she could still think.

Let’s see what you’ll do here.

The question of who that thought was directed towards remained to be seen.

Having made sure that the guard had been dealt with by means of poking their unmoving body with the tip of her shoe, she would simply turn her back towards him, moving straight for the door of the security room instead. There was no telling how many men were still there, but from the looks of it at least a great portion must have left for the elevator, meaning that their fighting force had been weakened significantly. Not that any of that mattered in an equation that included her.

As such she simply stepped into the door frame, wearing a smile as cocky as that of a sports pro participating in a school competition. However, with that deceiving act on the surface she had taken the opportunity to scan the area and get a lock on all potential hostiles, or in this case: The one remaining guard.

«Guard-san. It seems like your friend over there isn’t in his best shape. I guess he tripped and hit his head very badly. You should really watch what you’re doing. Watch out to not make the same mistakes. Careless movements can be lethal

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

It hadn't matter what happened, the young beautiful girl had stood there in all her glory while wearing those vintage bloomers. In her same style of mannerisms, she didn't give much away in expression or stance and only nodded after Mugino had taken the rude guard down. She wasn't even surprised and it showed there was genuine faith in working with Mugino Shirzuri to do her part. As compared to the other girls in ITEM she wasn't really the combative type and was more a support role.

Either way, she casually walked into the security room liked she had been invited, and even paused for a moment and studied the expression of the final guard that remained in the room. Her expression never changed and before you know it she had walked straight towards the array of screens which was displaying feeds from the cameras in the building.

She would easily press a few buttons on the keyboard, showing some knowledge of how to navigate through this system it wouldn't be long until she nodded her head slightly back towards Mugino. This was the simple gesture she had control and could see everything in the building, but that was the problem it was only this building.

"The coverage only seems to cover this building." she stated which indicated a sense of concern, though making best of what they had right now she looked for anything of note in one of the many cameras feeds.

He had seen exactly what had happened to the chief and he had seen exactly what had happened to the two that had been sent over via the flashing security footage. Regardless of work ethic or dedication, every human had certain limits that would override all of that and the words of the woman who had knocked out his superior was more than enough for him to be wary of his movements.

The last conscious worker in building A’s security office simply nodded and pretended as if he never saw anything, in a twisted extension of the idea that ‘if you can’t see them, they can’t see you.’ He could only hope that the young ladies who had so inelegantly intruded could understand that. He would file no reports, make no alerts (especially since that was the chief’s job), or make no sudden movements.

At the very least, he wouldn’t until he was sure that he was absolutely safe.

Without another word, he continued to monitor what was going on throughout the rest of the building as the tracksuit girl fiddled around with the displays. For a while, nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. It was exactly as he would expect on any normal night. People who remained in offices late at night. Labs with experiments running overnight with the occasional researcher sleeping at their lab bench.

That is, until certain oddities popped up.

It wasn’t a particularly noticeable one at first glance, but there seemed to be a shadow traversing the labs on the 40th floor while its owner was keeping out of the line of sight of any camera. It wasn’t something one would notice from staring at one camera, but from keeping watch on numerous cameras in succession.

But, before he could mull any further, another more horrifying sight popped up. Camera footage of building C’s security room had popped up. From the looks of it, the lens on the camera in that room had broken since there were cracks obscuring a good chunk of the view, but from what he could see, there remained scars of what was likely some battle etched into the walls combined with splatters of blood. At the same time, he could make out that there was some figure standing there, though the cracks obscured any further possible information.

It was at that moment, he averted his gaze to the footage of the blonde who had been waiting in front of the elevator where she knocked out his coworkers. She had seemed to focus her gaze on the camera, as if awaiting some sort of signal.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Takits15

Fiddling with the controls, the beautiful girl watched the numerous camera streams waiting to see something of note. While it was calm at first, she would soon notice unusual behaviour from the camera streams. One had seemed to be purposely avoiding the view of the camera, which was something she should bring up with Mugino.

"Someone is purposefully avoiding the cameras on the 40th floor? Could it be our targets?" she would note but there was no sense of certainty. Taking some time to notice this her attention would turn towards the stream coming from building C's security room. It would seem the coverage only covered this building alone except for the other security rooms. Which only mean the other security were alerted to their presence? Something had already alerted them she had thought to see signs of fighting and massacre in the other security room.

"You should come and look at this!" Takitsubo said with probably the most sense of panic anyone would've seen. Had someone already struck before them? And who were they? She had questioned in her mind before turning back to the cameras after glancing towards Mugino. She would look for the other girls and while she could find no sign of Kinuhata Saiai she would see Frenda in front of an Elevator staring towards the camera.

Clearly, she was waiting for some sort of signal and she would comply. She would take control of the camera's function in that feed and turn in off then on again. Doing it a few times for extra measure so to make ensure Frenda would notice as every camera had a red light on them indicating they were on or not.

Unlike Takitsubo Rikou, Mugino Shizuri did not walk up to the controls directly. Instead she would position herself behind the two working at the screens with arms folded underneath her chest, monitoring especially the remaining guard and all of the camera footage simultaneously.

There was hardly any noticeable tension emerging from her. Quite to the oppposite, did she keep her demeanour entirely relaxed – even when Takitsubo revealed the newfound information about the out of place movements. Therefore, instead of panicking Mugino simply took out her phone, setting up a wireless ear piece and starting a group call with all members of the team.

«Kinuhata. There are suspicious movements on the 40th floor. It could be a trace of the targets. Make sure to investigate thoroughly.»

There was no telling if her immediate suspicion was correct. Strange movements could be attributed to a handful of possibilities, but it was at least worth checking out, had they been hoping to find anything to jump on in here.

«Frenda. Scout the ar–»

«You should come and look at this!»

Immediately stopping in her tracks, the dominatrix-for-a-day would shift her glance to find the footage in question. Judging from the damage to both the environment and the camera in question something truly unfavourable was clearly going down. Clearly this wasn’t the handwriting of industrial spies attempting to make a silent escape. No, this grade of violence couldn’t be suited to that kind of profession. If at all it matched their own, or possibly a more brutish sector.

«Frenda. Move to the security room immediately. I’ll be moving out.»

Something truly unexpected had happened. Spies were one thing, but an actually capable enemy would change the setup of the board entirely. Someone else was there. Someone who cherished violence as much as she did. What were they after? The spies, like them? She didn’t now. She couldn’t tell. However, one thing was for sure:

«If we are able to see them, they should have been able to see us, as well. They likely know we’re here. This is where it gets interesting~»

Against expectations her voice wasn’t filled with worry, but bearing hints of excitement.

«Takitsubo. Try to track down unknown attacker A and guide me there.»

With those words spoken she would be on her way towards building C. The site of the upcoming battle?

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Frenda12

“Eh?”

Between the sudden switch in her instructions and the cryptic instructions to Takitsubo (well, cryptic to the young blonde, anyway), Frenda could say with blatant affirmation that she was confused.

Did something happen?

Given Mugino’s sudden shift and Takitsubo’s words, an unforeseen circumstance that had piqued the dear leader’s interest was the likely explanation. Unfortunately, those words meant one thing: Frenda Seivelun was about to put in the position of the benchwarmer while Mugino got to have her fun.

And the unfortunate result of that was…

Basically, this is going to be a low-paying job.

As she let those last three words roll through her head, she found herself shuddering at the very thought of those cursed words.

Even worse off, she couldn’t oppose Mugino in any way in this case. Even if Takitsubo was generally saccharine towards her friends, she would probably tell Mugino about any suspicious moves the young blonde dared to make the moment Mugino asked.

In other words.

No kill steals.

“Copy that.”

With a sigh, she affirmed her orders and made her way back to follow them, all the while pondering.

After all, there had to be some way.

While the lights were on in the hallway of Building A’s fortieth floor, a silence characteristic of the night time environment of any office of employment reigned. Not a creature seemed to be stirring in that empty hallway.

Near the end of the wall were the sets of elevators followed by the staircase that ran up all the way to the top. However, as one walked further down that hallway, they would come across numerous labs with lights turned off—with each bench, fume hood, and shelf lined with a plethora of specimens and tools.

From offices for the principal researchers to the clean rooms and facilities that made up their respective labs, they all seemed to be empty. Though, if one looked through the windows on the doors hard enough, one could find an older man in a lab coat, resting his head by a loudly whirring centrifuge. One could only imagine how draining and involved the research in Dr. Tendou’s Targeted Neuroblastoma Therapy lab (according to the sign next to the room number) was.

But, such was the life of a researcher.

Purifying specimens.

Isolating the targets.

Setting up experiments.

Making measurement after measurement.

It was all quite the draining work that only the dedicated could truly push through.

And throughout it all, not a single thing seemed to stir.

The culprit continued to remain at large.

It truly was the best choice. Just as she had expected, things were only about to get interesting. After all, she had placed a target on her back. She had seen ITEM’s absurdity through those screens and taken off before even seeing what move they took next.

No matter what, she had made herself conspicuous by even being there, so she needed to quickly fade back into the shadows.

They were after her.

As much as she hated being the bait, this was the only plan she could come up with. It was a gamble, all things considered, but the risks were absolutely worth the reward.

No matter who comes after me, I need to avoid becoming the prey.

Ultimately, that was the conclusion.

[SS] Chasse au Lapin - Page 3 Kinuha11

Kinuhata’s eyes sparkled brightly as she observed Frenda, the broken gaze, the bent legs, the outfit, and the tearful display of emotional trauma, It was perfect! A truly magnificent recreation of the great director’s vision. Kinuhata’s eyes shone even brighter as the tears of joy which filled them reflected the fluorescent lights on the ceiling, and they would shine brighter still when Kinuhata’s exposed retinas were hit by the light of a thousand suns from Frenda’s stun grenade.

Having worked ITEM for some time, Kinuhata had, both willingly and unwillingly, experienced some of her comrades’ habits and techniques regarding combat; thus, Frenda’s tendency to tuck all sorts of eccentric bits and pieces in her bits and pieces was hardly fresh information. Unfortunately, knowing how the explosion occured did little to suppress its effects...

“Ah! Such brilliance, it is too super much for the eyes of a mere mortal. Sea Kelp Girl has finally fulfilled her super destiny ☆”

...and the devastating effects of the stun grenade likewise did little to suppress the excitement of the ecstatic film fanatic...

«Kinuhata. There are suspicious movements on the 40th floor. It could be a trace of the targets. Make sure to investigate thoroughly.»

...but the cold voice of #4 certainly did. Kinuhata snapped back to reality as she considered the implications of Mugino’s order, the fact that the targets were spotted by Mugino, who was in the control room, meant they must have been caught on camera. Kinuhata frowned, surely the lives of such careless targets did not warrant the intervention of ITEM to end.

Not willing to let the noise of the elevator alert the mysterious guests, but even less willing to climb forty stories worth of stairs, Kinuhata pushed the button for floor thirty eight. Whoever was up there most likely did not know they were already in the building, so she decided she could get away with only climbing the last two flights of stairs.

Kinuhata gingerly pushed open the door separating the stairwell and the occupied section of the building. It was night time, so there was not a soul to be seen amidst the deserted cubicles and lab rooms. Kinuhata avoided touching anything whilst sneaking around the rooms. It was not out of any fear of leaving behind any evidence, the darkness will take care of that, it was more of an issue of the less-than-ideal surface area of Frenda’s outfit; the building was cold and its any metallic surfaces sent unpleasant shocks to her skin.

“I should have super taken Takisubo’s trench coat.” Kinuhata grumbled as she continued to search for the owner of the shadows.
