APPEARANCE: Kohaku is an average sized high school student with shoulder-length silver hair is tied up into two braids with varying bows and blue eyes. Whenever, she is not in school, she tends to wear a variety of long sleeved shirts and jeans.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Her main distinguishing feature is a scar that runs from her lower abdomen to the area between her breasts (though that is hidden under her clothes).

Medical Nut
When it comes to medicine, human anatomy, and physiology, Kohaku's enthusiasm is unbridled. She is the type who can go on and on about a single topic in any of those field as soon as someone brings it up.

I refuse give up!
As a result of her past and her desire to change herself, Kohaku became the type of person who would stubbornly refuse to give up no matter how desperate any situation encountered was.

Tactless
Despite her desire to be a doctor and how much she has worked to change herself for that purpose, she is still fairly blunt and tactless with her speech. She rarely attempts to take the sensitivities of others into account and is quite blunt as a result.

Calm, even under pressure
Kohaku is able to remain calm and composed even in situations of high stress.

As a result of her desire to save others the way she was saved, she is willing to help anyone who simply asks for help without any ulterior motives. She is the type who would do this even if she incurs some cost.

HISTORY: 
Kohaku was born to two executives in a fairly large and successful company in Tokyo. As a result of her pampered life, she developed a dependence towards her parents that left her acting quite immature most of the time. Feeling that it would be necessary to help her mature (even though she was 9), her parents had her move to Academy City when as part of the Power Curriculum Program to help break away her dependence and learn to act on her own. At the same time, they felt that developing an ESPer ability in Academy City could also help build the Kohaku's confidence. Surprisingly enough, the former actually worked. As a result of being forced to live on her own, Kohaku's attitude began to change and she began to act a lot more self sufficient.

As time passed and she eventually moved on to middle school, her Diagnosis Touch developed to its current level. However, the power began to affect her. As she used her power, she eventually began to turn away from people and her attitude towards the world began to direct itself to one of apathy in order to prevent herself from seeing what she thought to be the horrific sight of the insides of the human body. She slowly let herself give up on the world around her.

At the age of 14, close to the end of Middle School, she got caught up in a hit-and-run by some Skill Outs escaping from Anti-Skill. that tore a giant wound on the front of her body. She tapped herself one last time and activated her power to check her condition and started to resign herself to giving up on her life as she closed her eyes and started to slip into unconsciousness.

She was surprised as she awoke the next day, alive in a hospital bed, albeit with a large scar on her body where the wound had been. She was a bit light-headed but alive. To the girl who had seemingly given up, it was nothing short of a miracle that she was still alive. As the old frog-faced doctor who had performed surgery on her came to debrief his patient, she muttered to herself, "But I had given up…so why did a miracle happen for me of all people?"

"But you didn't give up. The fact that you are here right now is a testament to that. You clung to that will to live until the bitter end and it's because of that that the path you are on now didn't close up." Hearing those words from the doctor who was giving a warm smile forced her to look at herself and the world around her in a new light. As she thanked the doctor who she later found out to be the revered Heaven Canceler and left the hospital, she resolved herself to changing. Out of both a desire to emulate Heaven Canceler as well as a desire to finally be able to accept her power and put it to good use, she immersed herself into the world of medicine. She realized that perhaps, if she became a doctor, she could also be able to save others the way that she was saved.  

As a result of the passion she developed, she eventually developed her knowledge of medicine which combined with her already strong academics made her stand out to Nagatenjouki Academy and she ended up getting into it.

Kohaku's power can be categorized as a subset of Psychometry. Her power, while not it is not full psychometry, is an extremely specialized form which is used solely for the human body. By making direct contact or indirect contact by one degree (clothing, etc), she can read out all vital signs such as heart rate, pulse strength (making two contact points can allow her to read EKG signals), respiration rate, SpO2, blood pressure, and body temperature. Simply reading vitals can be done near instantaneously as Kohaku would only be focusing on certain elements. For example, if she needed to read EKG signals, she would only focus on the relevant data and ignore or delete extraneous data.

Aside from simply reading vital signs, she can also detect any issues on a body. For example, she would be able to detect and read a torn muscle, poisoning, or other forms of internal damage. She does this by being able to visualize the entire inner body as if it were an anatomy doll. She can also use this ability to detect weak points and defects in the body. This, however, can take from 20-30 seconds due to the sheer amount of data that she has to process when she does this. That only occurs if she makes short contact and lets go. Kohaku prefers to maintain contact as it helps her focus and cuts the time she needs to process the data in half.

OTHER ABILITIES:
CPR and First Aid
She can perform First Aid and CPR at a moment's notice if she encounters the need to do so. Experience ranges from treatment of first degree burns to abdominal thrusts.

Anatomy and Physiology Knowledge
While she is not an expert, she has expansive knowledge on anatomy and physiology that rivals that of a medical student due to how heavily she pursued knowledge of it in order to supplement her ability.

I also need to point out that silver hair isn’t anything we can consider a distinguishing feature at this point any more, as there’s quite the number of characters with similar traits, but that’s just a warning.

Another minor thing I’d like you to do is elaborate on how she got into Nagatenjouki Academy. While that school is rather prestigious it is the kind that’d only accept the smartest of the smartest. Don’t worry this is not a big point either, just explain that she was a really good student throughout her life in the city and maybe link it to her interest in the medical world.


2. Ability
First of all I need to admit that I don’t fully see through the ability’s workings or rather the way it functions.
So basically this is a form of Psychometry that allows for her to read all the signals the body transmits to the brain to then craft an image of the human body in her mind by using all the acquired data, which would then allow for her to read all processes going on within it?

How long does it take until the data is read? Does it happen instantly? Or is there a short time interval making up the process?

Additionally I want you to scratch the part about her ability allowing her to see the causes of external wounds. That won’t fit with the rest of the ability. The only thing I would allow for her to do is to make the deductions as to what caused the injury herself by making use of the data she acquired through her “scans”.

That's basically the idea. In a sense, she acts as sort of a human EKG/PulseOx/MRI/etc. She takes in raw data and processes it into something readable. (Filtering noise is a non issue since ESPer powers rely on AIM Dispersion Fields).

I'll be honest, that was the one thing I was kind of iffy about so I've scrapped it. Though the latter can be done since attention to detail and analytical are her strengths.
