[SS Idea] Worship of the Insolence; Severance of the Hand that Shatters Illusions (Cult of Imagine Breaker)

A magician has recently contracted Skill-Out to mass produce replicas of the Imagine Breaker. Offering to serve as a decoy under the pretense of a "The Cult of Imagine Breaker" they have been performing a false man hunter, claiming to be looking for Touko Kamijou to severe her arm for a supposed "ritual to end all higher levels," when in actuality they are only harming those of similar appearance to the bearer of the aforementioned misfortunate object. This is all done to draw attention away from the actual objective, in which members of Skill-Out have been planning and executing heists on various labs to acquire the technology, commonly known as AIM Jammers, to make the replicas with the goal being to allow them to be easily mobilized and handled.

Not only is there the obvious issues of the heists and harming of espers, there is the fact that the replicas cannot negate the mysterious force known as magic, which may only cause more problems once the contractor has found out.

Whether you choose to perpetuate the chaos and deceit or halt it is up to you...

1. Magicians in Academy City.

…usually are a pretty complicated topic. People often tell me I shouldn’t be this strict about it, but it needs to be handled with at least some sort of common sense. We may start of by refreshing some Magic-Science Treaty lessons or skipping to the simple: Magicians messing around with Science with the objective of replicating a phenomenon through it is a major crime and most certainly will lead to execution or imprisonment of said Magician. In conclusion, especially given that a PC is going to be that Magician, this idea isn’t recommendable. In general, the idea of a Magician contracting Skill-Out to procure technology for them is beyond the scope of what is deemed tolerable in terms of cross over threads.

It won’t work.


2. Kamijou Touko, Imagine Breaker & the Right Hand

It has been pointed out to me that at the current state of events, knowledge of Imagine Breaker is very sparse. Even among the Magic Side the existence of that right hand is something only a few have knowledge of. In terms of Science Imagine Breaker probably never left the category of exclusive knowledge where only those directly involved with Touma or the higher ups even know about his ability. In the meantime in the general public the only knowledge about Touma – or in this case – is the rumour that there is a Level 0 that can best the Railgun or a Level 5. And that should be all in context of the forum. Spanning a thread around the idea that someone knows who exactly that person is, what they look like and how exactly their ability works (the fact that it is limited to the right arm) and is actively spreading that information among a larger group, would break the overall plot a bit too much. Especially, in context of the Urban Legend «The Level 0 that can best the Railgun» this would be highly detrimental of executing said major site plot.


All in all, these major issues make me question whether or not it is advisable for you to start off with a thread this serious on your first attempt at making one. I would recommend either lowering the scope of the thread significantly or working on some new SoL scenarios first before trying to take up something this complex.
