LEVEL 3 Mass Teleport
"Being optimistic doesn't make me naïve, nor does being kind make me an idiot. Hope and kindness are a proof of wisdom in their own way."
FULL NAME: Yamaguchi Hiromi
OTHER ALIAS: Hiro, Hiro-chan
CURRENT AGE: 18
GENDER: Female
OCCUPATION: Trainee in a certain hospital
SCHOOL: Dangai University (Medical courses)
FACTION: The Yamaguchi Yakuza Clan
APPEARANCE: Hiromi has short purple/black hair and large hazel-colored eyes.
She prefers to wear modestly; often opting for comfortable clothes too. She is usually wearing a light colored long-sleeved blouse or shirt with a dark-colored vest sweater over it. She also prefers wearing trousers, but if she was obliged to wear a skirt or a dress, she would wear shorts underneath. However, her friend and roommate Sayaka would always tease her about this habit, saying it was no need to wear shorts if the skirt was already "ten meters long" (In reality it just reaches slightly past her knees).
Hiromi also has a relatively small chest compared to girls her age. Though she never seemed to care or to be bothered by it. This joins her general attitude to not care about looks: she never uses make up, always has a totally natural hair aside from brushing it a bit, and never wants to follow the clothing trend if it was at the expense of her comfort in those clothes. For her, physical and psychological comfort in what you wear comes first. Other girls sometimes tease her about this attitude, but she always replies that it's the least of her concerns, saying that looks shouldn't determine how people look at you, and that she prefers to be herself rather than to show off to others with fabricated and sophisticated looks.
HEIGHT: 168 cm
WEIGHT: 56 Kg
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Her somewhat childish and cheerful attitude make it so that she is often mistaken for being a high school student.
She is also smiling most of the time without any real reason, so a lot of people -who have yet to know her in person- find her somewhat weird or just simply ridiculous.
PERSONALITY:
A Kind Heart
She is nice, kind and generous. She wants to help people as much as she can. That's why, she finds herself usually unable to say no when asked a favour. And so, people tend to exploit her, thinking she is naïve and stupid. However, they don't know that in reality, she is fully aware of their intentions. She just finds it bothersome to start a quarrel because of something this trivial. It isn't worth the trouble. As long as they don't overdo it, she's ok with being exploited if it is to help them.
Optimistic and Hopeful
She always thinks the best out of people. Always trying to look at the bright side of things, she believes every tragedy has a solution. If someone does something bad, she always tries to think of a possible reason for why he did it. She wants to believe in the good inside of them, and that no matter how much a person is evil, he only became like that because of an accumulation of mistakes he did along his life path. If she was able to become a better person herself, then everybody could too. However, she didn't blame the world for the individuals' missdeeds. She believed it was their own choice to become like that. And that's precisely why she believes people can always correct themselves and improve to the best. On the other hand, she knows that the world is no perfect place, and that society is cruel and unfair. But for her, it's the individuals who made it that way, not the other way around. So by helping the individuals become better people, the world as a whole would improve too. She believed that such a dream was definitely not out of reach.
Hard-working and persevering
Her strong patience and optimism have allowed her to do her best at everything she did. Even if she failed, she would try again, and again, until she finally succeeds. She was a person to never give up.
Curious
Extremely curious, she has always been interested in the different rumours going around, to the extent of investigating them herself. This has caused her a good amount of trouble in the past though.
Another aspect is that she would try to understand other people. She wanted to know how everyone around her was thinking. But in the face of her inability to do so, she would just take the most positive course of things and would assume a person’s intentions are often good ones, unless the opposite was clear.
Very attentive... Or not
She was someone to be quickly distracted, often seen day-dreaming, specially when she was bored. However, when serious, she shows a frightening degree of concentration.
Hot-headed yet calm
She would generally control her anger and bother in front of strangers and show off a calm collected face. But when it comes to close people, she would show her true colors, and just how much Hot-headed she actually is. She was a person to get angry and the slightest and most trivial things.
Strong sense of Justice
She is a person who stands up to the week and defends the oppressed. Her dream is to change the world to a better place, where no one is a victim. She hated unjustice afterall.
Quickly embarrassed, Overly Sentimental
She gets embarrassed about the smallest and most insignificant things. She also has a problem voicing out her feelings. She finds it awkward to say them openly, even to close people.
LIKES:
+ Her family
+ Good & nice people: She respected such people, and has high esteem of them.
+ Her best friend: Itou Sayaka
+ A world without tragedies: That was the dream she wanted to achieve.
+ Cute things
DISLIKES:
- Insects: She hates all kinds of insects. It is not a matter of simple disgust. She has a genuine fear towards those small creatures.
- People who swear as if it was nothing: Even though she doesn't really hate such people, she still finds herself extremely bothered when someone curses in front of her. What annoys her the most are people who say vulgar words while really believing it is no big deal. 'At least when you curse, be aware that it may not be such a "normal" thing to other people!'
- To betray other people's expectation: She thinks she had to live up to everyone’s expectations because she didn’t want to disappoint other people or bother them. She had many insecurities concerning this.
- Misunderstandings: Specially those regarding serious problems.
- Unjustice and opression: She didn’t like how people always turn blind eyes to such things.
- Physical Contact: Unless it’s shaking hands. She was ok with that.
STRENGTHS:
+ Sports: She’s an athletic person
+ Keeping the spirits of those around her high
+ Logic
+ Music :She has always been fond of musical studies. She plays the Violin for seven years now.
WEAKNESSES:
- Cooking
- Leadership
- Understanding People’s Behaviour
- Jokes And Non-logic Based Riddles
HISTORY: Hiromi is the daughter of a Yakuza Oyabun (Boss), Yamaguchi Yamato, and his wife, Yamaguchi Rina.
The Yamaguchis had been a small Yakuza group in Japan. But less than a decade ago, they witnessed a surprising ascension, thanks to the efforts of its new Oyabun: Yamaguchi Yamato, and his spouse -who was still his fiancée at the time- Rina. Unlike other Yakuza groups, Hiromi's family had some strict values and morals when it came to using their power : They should only use it to help people, not to hurt them. They also had to avoid involving innocents in their world. They prohibited any business whose victims would be the civilians, such as drug deals for example. Yamato believed in the importance of keeping their territory "clean" to gain the citizens' trust. And it worked. Added to the fact that the couple were pretty much charismatic and trustworthy people, these rules encouraged the "honest" people to put their faith in this clan. In exchange for their trust, the clan was responsible for the safety and well-being of the people living in their territory. Nowadays, the Yamaguchi Yakuza Group, despite its small territory compared to other groups, has one of the most efficient information network and stable economic incomes and deals thanks to the support of the "honest" people, but also thanks to having very loyal followers despite their small number.
Even though it wasn't a "job" to be proud of, the parents were pretty much open about it with their daughter since her early childhood. As for Hiromi, she accepted the fact with open arms, having an unwavering trust in her parents after noticing how they maintained their values in that world tainted with blood. Her parents are her Heroes to whom she looks up.
When Hiromi was eight, the Yamaguchi Clan encountered a crisis when the other clans of Yakuza united to destroy it. Concerned about their daughter’s safety, Yamato and Rina sent her to Academy City, fully knowing they wouldn’t be able to take her back if things ever calmed down on their end. Two years later, Yamato became the new Oyabun of the Clan; and thanks to his efforts alongside his loyal followers, the Yamaguchi Clan achieved victory and gained a lot of allies down the road, gaining more power in the underground of Japan as a result. When things finally settled down, the parents tried to have Hiromi back nonetheless, but in vain. They didn't have any influence over Academy City afterall. Not wanting to draw more enemies when the clan was still recovering, and seeing that their daughter was happy with her new lifestyle, the Yamaguchi Oyabuns left her there.
Some years later, she joined Tokiwadai Middle School. In Tokiwadai, she met her best friend and roommate since then, Itou Sayaka. After her graduation from middle school, Hiromi had already made up her mind. She wanted to pursue medical studies in college. To increase her chances, she had to study in an elite high school. So she enrolled in Nagatenjouki Academy. Being one of the best five, if not the best, and most prestigious schools in Academy City, it offered her all the opportunities she was looking for.
Right now, she’s a medical student at Dangai University. Her dream is to be Heaven Canceller’s, the Legendary Doctor, trainee and student.
RANK: N/A
LEVEL: 3
MASS TELEPORT:
As it's name suggests, it is, like any other kind of Teleportation powers, an ability to transport matter through space instantaneously.
The theory behind teleportation is to move the target away from the 3rd dimension, find its coordinates in the 11th dimension, and then calculate the vectors to teleport it. She can't teleport herself yet though.
She has any teleporter's normal weaknesses: If she is in pain, anxious, confused, or unable to remain calm, she becomes unable to do the necessary calculations and thus won’t be able to use her powers. Also she cannot teleport other teleporters as it might lead to contradictions in their respective calculations.
However, it is called "Mass" Teleport for a reason. It offers her the possibility to teleport several items at once, as long as it is within her weight limits. However, the things she teleports have to be in direct contact with her skin or within a range of 2,37 metres radius, meaning 5.58 metres diameter.
If the objects are in direct contact, she can teleport them to a distance varying between 20 and 30 m. Her maximum weight limit is around 100 Kg, all targets included.
With physical touch, she can teleport items simultaneously. As for those teleported from distance, it would require a bit more focus and she would have to point with her fingers at the object and the direction it's should be teleported to.
OTHER ABILITIES:
Efficient Medical Knowledge
Being a medical student, she has acquired the basics of said science. However, as her dream was to train under the Legendary Doctor, she wasn’t content with what she learned at school and made her own progress in medical studies.
Quick Thinker
She is smart and has a solid logical thought pattern, showing an incredible ability to come to the right conclusions in a brief amount of time, giving the said problem follows a logical pattern. But if it was random, she wouldn’t be able to predict it, like people’s emotions, or jokes, etc…
High Adaptation Ability
Thanks to often getting into trouble because of her curiosity, she has learned to be always mentally ready for any sudden situation changes.
Multilingual
As a past student of Tokiwadai, she knows some other languages aside from Japanese. They are mainly English, French, Arabic and Spanish.

Re: [Esper] Yamaguchi Hiromi
So, this is the test post :
Thanks a lot for reading it, and I hope it is ok! ^^
- TEST POST:
"Hiro, Wake up~ Hiro! Come on wake up! Hi-Ro-Mi! Hey! HIII~ ROO~MIII~ Ugh! JUST WAKE UP ALREADY YOU LAZY SPOILED GIRL!!!" Screamed the long-haired young lady who was now shaking off her roommate violently.
"Wh-What’s happening here?!" The other one who had been sleeping, woke up terrified. She then saw her friend in front of her.
"Oh it’s just you Sayaka? I thought there was an earthquake for a second."
After a moment of silence, and as if finally realizing what her friend had been doing just now she added "Wait... Hey! What was that for? Can’t you just wake me up calmly like any civilized human being on this earth would do?!"
When hearing this, Sayaka stopped. Hiromi, who thought that she hit the nail, let out a sigh.
"Heh. Hehehe." Sayaka suddently started laughing with a weird grin on her face.
"Oi. Why are you laughing like that? Just stop it. It’s creepy." The yet-sleepy girl said slightly norrowing her eyes, fully knowing that this is not the end of it.
"Hehehehehehehe. Civilized? You, of all people, are talking about civilized behavior? You nearly got me there, Hiromi~", she stopped again for some seconds, then started shouting, "I WAS TRYING TO WAKE YOU UP FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR NOW YOU BLOCKHEAD IDIOT!!! LIKE ANY CIVILIZED WAY WOULD ACTUALLY WORK WITH YOU!!!"
"Fine, fine, fine. Just calm down would you! I’m sorry okay?" Hiromi, startled, put her hands on her ears to cover them. Unlike her, Sayaka wasn’t someone to get angry easily, so if she ever did, Yamaguchi Hiromi knew better than to push things too far, because it was most likely that she was the one at fault, as always.
So, as if trying to change the topic, Hiromi asked:
"Now that I think about it, isn’t today a Week-end? Why are you wearing your uniform? Do you have extra classes?"
"Ah. No. It's just Judgement Work as usual."
---------------------
‘Eh… That quarreling this morning left me with a headacke.’
It was nearly noon at Academy City. Hiromi was bored after being left by herself, so she went out to breathe some air. Something made her regret her decision though: It was way hotter than she expected.
She thought about going back. But as bored as she was, she just continued in her tracks, not bothering to turn around.
"Get lost you loser!"
"Why are you even in this city!"
"Yeah! Get lost already!"
"Hiiiiiiik! Please, stop it! I beg you!"
‘Hmm? What was that?’
She heard kids yelling. She turned around searching for where the sounds came from.
‘There!’
She saw a bunch of kids gathered around a young boy, most probabely slightly younger than them, judging from the looks. She wondered what was going on there. The words of the children didn’t seem that friendly afterall. After approaching a little bit more, she saw it, and her fears came true. Her suspicions were spot on : Those older kids were bullying that younger boy.
She hated it when stronger people gathered around a weaker opponent to just put him in misery. That was unfair. She couldn’t stand it. She couldn’t understand it either. She had to help that child, now!
"Hey! You! What do you think you’re doing to him?" She yelled at them, in a fierce intonation. She did it on purpose to scare them. Because any leniency on her part towards them would be taken for a weakness. So she had to be strict, even if they were kids. No, it’s precisely because they were kids, they needed someone to teach them to respect others.
"Oh no ! We were found out! Run!"
"You’re not running anywhere!" She said as she teleported three nearby boxes in front of them. "Don’t think you’ll be escaping from me today. So just be good kids and wait here with me quitely until…"
"Until what ?" Asked one of the bullies, scared and shivering in his place.
"You’ll find out when they arrive."
---------------------
About twenty minutes later.
"You’re late, too late. I was bored to death. Are you sure judgement is doing well if it’s taking your members this long to get to a place this close to your departement?" Complained Hiromi.
"We’re doing good. No need to worry about us." Answered Sayaka, slightly annoyed by her friend’s comment.
"Hooo? Fine then…" Hiromi wasn’t really in the mood for another quarrel, so she didn’t insist further. It was too hot to be wasting effort on a such a trivial matter.
"More importantly, what do-"
Hiromi ignored her, because she knew she was just going to start grounding her for something or the other, and she would like to avoid that. So she headed to the young child who had been attacked instead. He looked about seven. It was painful for her to see such an innocent face with bruises all over it. She thought she would try conforting the boy somehow, even though she was horrible at it.
"Hey. Are you alright ? Do you have any serious injuries ? Are you hurt ? Do you need some-", she started asking questions one after the other, not knowing exactly what she should be saying.
"Um, onee-chan, you don’t have to ask that much, you know? People will think you’re weird. No, the correct word for it is a weirdo." Replied the boy.
"Huh ?" She said with a blank look. It took her few more seconds to fully take in the boy’s words.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, BRAT?!!!" She started shouting, her face as red as a tomato.
"Fufu, serves you right~" Sayaka was now making fun of her too.
"SH-SHUT UP SAYAKA !"
And this was just another ordinary day from the life of the girl called Yamaguchi Hiromi.
Thanks a lot for reading it, and I hope it is ok! ^^

Re: [Esper] Yamaguchi Hiromi
Right, time to tackle this profile. First, let's do the main character.
While it's an interesting character what I immediately see is the non-sensical Yakuza power. Firstly, I don't really see how a yakuza group like them would manage to overtake every single other yakuza group when back-stabbing's a thing in the business; not everyone would go along with their pacific and kind-hearted ways towards other civilians and it'd cause at some point a complete internal war. Personally I don't believe things would be smooth and they'd somehow make it to be the absolute best yakuza group in the entire country if they even restrict their own business.
Which leads me to my second point, so far we've refused that people give themselves the rank or family of the “absolute best in X field” so I'm afraid that for fairness's sake we'll have to keep that up. Especially as I don't really see the importance behind them being the most powerful group in Japan for the actual character; it mostly sounds like a powered history for the sake of it, and since you know the Raildex verse you'll know that families aren't exactly the most recurring of themes so here I don't really see the need for all of this powered-yakuza trait (which is why The Oyabun's Daughter wouldn't even apply as a rank; in AC she's just another student amongst many others and the yakuza don't exactly have influence over AC).
Next in the profile is her schools. I'm moderately okay with Tokiwadai as a middle school, the only problem I see is that Tokiwadai refused the application of a princess, so I can't fathom why they'd accept a yakuza's child considering the social taboo in Japan concerning the yakuza and considering the School Garden is a foster for sheltered girls.
However, I'm going to have to refuse A Certain Highschool as her highschool for the very simple reason that no character who's had enough class to attend Tokiwadai's Middle School would want to attend a low-level school like A Certain Highschool. It just feels like justification for her to meet Seria, and we don't really fancy the easy routes in terms of involvement with those kind of things that can easily lead to the dark side.
Not only that, but it wouldn't be beneficial for her as a medic student. There's not much prestige in saying you're from that Level 0~2 A Certain Highschool compared to the prestige you get for attending the Elite Tokiwadai Middle School that has two of the seven Level 5s.

1/
Also, about the rank, I thought it meant the rank in the Faction she belongs to? I didn’t think it was a rank that had to apply inside AC too. So I misunderstood it, sorry.
I changed it it.
2/
Also, about that princess, I thought they refused her because her level wasn’t enough even though she was a princess, not refused her because she was a princess, no? I thought Tokiwadai didn’t discriminate with student and only took their level as the single criteria.
About A Certain High School, you’re right, I was just thinking to make her not like being in a prestigious school that’s overprotective. The Seria idea came afterwards. But yeah, it would make it too ease as you said, so I’ll change the school. Is Nagatenjouki Academy fine? It’s an elite school that would give her a better chance to be a medical student.
I edited it as you said.
3/ I also changed the reflexes part (in the abilities) as you told me in PM. Now her physical ability should be fine, she no longer has the strong reflexes, just an ability to adapt mentally and psychologically to sudden situation changes.
4/Also, I didn’t change the Glove & Heat Sensor as you told me in PM because I didn’t understand what I was supposed to change, sorry. I would appreciate if you explained this point again. I apologize.
Finally, thanks a lot for taking the time to read it and for giving detailed notes ^^
& I hope the edits were ok
Yeah, I understand. You’re right, I gave them too much power. I will tone it down, specially that, as you said, it doesn’t add anything to the character herself.Misaka Mikoto wrote:Right, time to tackle this profile. First, let's do the main character.

Ah I was actually thinking that the school wouldn’t know about her Yakuza background. (Specially that after the edit, they are a small group, so they wouldn’t be that known to the outer world).Misaka Mikoto wrote:Next in the profile is her schools. Re: [Esper] Yamaguchi Hiromi
History
Alright, I see no more problems with the yakuza background so we can move to the next parts after a slight reply on the points you've made.
Also, about that princess, I thought they refused her because her level wasn’t enough even though she was a princess, not refused her because she was a princess, no? I thought Tokiwadai didn’t discriminate with student and only took their level as the single criteria.
I have to say in regards to the Tokiwadai paragraph of yours though, that Tokiwadai is an Elite school hand-picking their students; there's no way they wouldn't know about her family.
But regardless fair point, though I was kind of talking about the impact on their students moreso than the actual school's acceptance of her, so it's probably a problem in how I expressed it. If Tokiwadai accepted her, she might have gone through pretty bad social exclusion (possibly even being an object of fear) by Tokiwadai's students from her yakuza daughter status even if the school found Esper worth in her compared to that princess, since girls usually don't take to the Japanese mafia kindly and rumours can spread like fire.
Though as long as you keep the risks of her past of social exclusion in mind (or heck, even use it to your advantage IC for bonus character development), I personally don't mind her past as a Tokiwadai student, so it was merely just a mention to keep in mind.
Nagaten sounds all right, so I'll approve of that as well.
Additional Abilities
The edits are all right, but I'm going to have to ask to remove the additional equipment of her friend. It sounds like pretty advanced Academy City technology and personally I don't think it'd go well in the hands of a medic student even if her geek friend decided to give them to her rather than expose them to the city. Plus, it kind of sounds like equipment just for the sake of having more cards at hand when I can't really see what a supposedly now passive girl like her would do with that.
And we overall much prefer small machines for everyday use than actual equipment for combat in terms of character-created machines.
I could understand if it were equipment somehow related to her status as a medical student, but what is a medic student going to do with super-powered punching so it's a no for me.
For her heat sensor, the reason I'm going to have to refuse it as well because even if it serves her as a teleport user, it's going into the territory of clairvoyance and ideally we want each Esper to stick with the moveset their ability grants them.

Edits done
I removed the part about Tokiwadai not knowing about her family and removed the gadgets.
Thanks again for your reply ^^

Re: [Esper] Yamaguchi Hiromi
Alright. With that out of the way, since we've discussed the ability already to make the appropriate changes, I'll mention what changes need to be made to the ability now.
Mass teleport will not allow her greater range or weight, but will allow her a range of 2,37 metres radius (5.58 metres diameter) with a bit more focus. However, to teleport without physical touch, she will be required to point at the item and the direction it's supposed to be teleported at (she may also use all of her fingers for that purpose if she's able to control all of them flawlessly, or risk messing up the teleportation's coordinates).
Her range with physical touch is about 20 to 30 metres for a weight limit of 100KGs (all items included), and because it's a tough feat for teleporters to teleport herself; she will not be able to teleport herself.

I understand. I edited the power as we've discussed and by extention as mentioned here
Re: [Esper] Yamaguchi Hiromi
Alright, besides a slight issue I have with her being in Nagaten despite not really being elite (though I'm going to blame Kamachi's lack of introduction of high schools that would fit the middle between low-class and elite, so let's ignore that), I see no more glaring problems.
As such, this character is now:
Approved
Level 3 Mass Teleporter
