First Anniversary Omake Special! OOC

It's that special time of the year- our beloved site of Toaru rp goodness is going to be turning ONE on 12th June 2013 (errr... I think, going by the date Aleister/ Touko joined this site).

To celebrate, we're thinking of holding a special thread in which everyone can participate freely. As I mentioned in chat, perhaps we could do a non-canon (i.e. does not adhere to the plot line) omake special where characters get stuck in funny/ weird/ ridiculous situations within which we can have some fun playing around.

Anyway, this is just a starting point of course! Feel free to post and share your ideas on celebrating our first birthday together! Let's get creative people! If we don't make this canon to our AU plotline, I believe we can go a bit wild

I think the beach episode had originally be planned for before Arc 4 (during a time of peace), but I'm pretty sure Guy said he's cool with altering those plans for the Omake. Well, I guess we'll see what other ideas we can come up with :3

Well like I say, I'm happy to go with whatever you guys think is good. After all, you guys are the reason we're still going strong, you deserve to have some fun.

Have a vote on the top ideas and we can get it set up soon.

We wouldn't happen to need one of those silly fourth wall's, would we?

Some basic ideas we've had so far, please post if there are any I've missed, or you want to add:

-Beach episode
-Battle royale
-Characters get locked in rooms together (paired?)
-Characters explore another universe (it'd probably have to be something we're all familiar with)... e.g. Alice in Wonderland? XD
-Characters shrink/ grow in size

Also, I mentioned how I feel this Omake shouldn't be part of the ongoing plot (just so we can have more fun with it), but I think it'd be good if time-wise, the Omake was set after Arc 1, and all the side stories of Arc 1. Just to make everything consistent :3 We could do after Arc 2, but I doubt it would finish before we start this Omake and we're still in the middle of Radio...
[e.g. To clarify what I mean: in Mikoto's case, she wouldn't know a single about her cloning project or the characters she meets in Arc 2/ Radio, they'll have to be reacquainted/ introduced] If you have any issues with this, please feel free to post! This is completely open to discussion.

So... let's vote, expand, discuss some of these ideas or add new ones! :3

EDIT: just had another weird idea... characters swap personalities! XD *cringe* I just had a brief image of Accelerator hugging a gekota plushie with a blissful smile... O_o

Most of the ideas I think can be done in the series, others are quirky but not sure if it'll fit the series.
I think the alternate worlds idea is interesting but it really needs the world known to all.

Other vote - Waking up on an island and having a survival adventure, along with mystery with creatures on the island that find killing humans to be easy prey. Espers will have to rely on one another establish an outpost and survive the many problems that appear for them. (inspired by "Eden no Ori")

Looks like the alternate universe idea is winning/ has won... (not sure if there is anyone left who hasn't voted). If people are happy to proceed with that idea, then it might be good to start thinking about which universe our characters are going to explore.
I'm ashamed to say the only anime I've fully watched (from Sayuri's list), and can say I know with confidence, is Angel Beats. =_=* And I like that series, it has a uniqueness to it. I don't want my lack of anime-knowledge to hold you guys back though. I'll read up a wiki on the chosen universe or something, or even try to watch some parts of the anime (if I can find the time, that's the problem!) if we end up doing something I don't know. I'm sure it'll work out.

Your other idea Sayuri- lol, I was actually think about that one recently. If the majority like that idea more than the alternate universe, I don't see why not.

Sorry about the double post... but it looks like most people are happy to go for the alternate universe option from what I've heard on chat. Angel Beats seem to be a series everyone knows (at least, the people whom I've had a chance to speak to...) and if no one has any objections, it might be nice to start planning some plot ideas for it. I remember somebody suggested mixing up AUs- I'm just a bit wary of making this Omake toooo complex (I often find the simplest ideas the best ones), but I guess mixing small basic elements wouldn't be too bad. Anyways, ideas please, people! 12th is nearing so we should get things ready ^^ Time to start joining up ideas! If you have objections to doing Angel Beats, feel free to post but offer solutions please!

EDIT: Some ideas to consider/ discuss:

-Will we have some of the characters from original Angel Beats around? Or will we keep it purely Toaru characters in Angel Beats universe?

-Characters to work out/remember how they died and ended up in the afterlife school? [each rper will have to figure out a back story for their character]

-Did some of the characters know each other before they died? Will they have some/no memories of their previous life?

-Character/ characters to replace the character Angel? Maybe characters could form "factions" of some kind?

-Combine other elements/concepts from other universes? (let's not make it toooo complex though...? ^^U)

-Other plot ideas?

Only two more days until the anniversery! Could everyone who wants to participate in the omake please sign up on this OOC board with which of their characters they want to be part of the plot?

Also, we need some more ideas- I haven't heard from a single person yet...! I have a feeling we might have to turn to something much simpler (since Angel beats! is very much plot driven) if we can't think of anything :/ The problems arise from the fact that characters would be dead- we'll have to have reasons etc. and the plot could potentially become rather complex for the purposes of this omake.

If we are to turn to some of the less-complex ideas:

*Sayuri's idea of survival island seems quite popular as well from what I've heard on chat. Maybe they could be teleported by a mysterious force who wants to test/ play around with them? We could have some humour scenes (characters getting in each other's hair), battle scenes and such. I think there's a lot of room to play around here.

*Characters getting stuck in rooms with each other was another one that was pretty popular, but I'm not sure how much room there is for creativity...

*Battle royale- another popular one. What would be there reason for fighting each other though? Also, we'll be having alot of fighting scenes already in our upcoming plots... Again, I'm not sure how much room there is for variety in this idea.

Remember this is an omake, we can play around and have things occur that is out-of-this-world and whacky. I have put up another poll so please vote, and post to expand on them! Please only vote on "other" option if your new idea is exceptionally amazing. We really have to make a decision soon so...

Anyways, we want everyone to have fun with this and it can only happen if all contribute!

EDIT: Also, Natsumi has asked me if characters who have not yet been approved can join... I'm not sure, I'll leave it up to Guy to pass on the final verdict but I personally think it's best if they are approved before they join. If Guy agrees with me, remember, don't despair- you can always join in the middle of the omake (once accepted) since the thread will probably be up for a long while.

I'll be going with Sayuri's mysterious island idea, given the time we have, seems like the best option to me.

Looks pretty interesting too.

Also, I would like to sign up Natsumi in the Omake, and Miyako when/if she gets approved.

It seems the mysterious island suggestion has got majority votes currently.
I originally got the idea from 2 mangas I've read, but the concept is pretty simple and is the same in both mangas. ("Eden no Ori")

The story begins with the entire school group finding themselves on an island due to supernatural circumstances. In one manga they had a plane make an emergency landing and in another a bunch of students find the bus they are on goes out of control on a hill and they fall through some kind of magical barrier.
- Suggestions are welcome for the intro sequence.

As for the story/plot of "Mysterious island" idea. Your on a mysterious island with creatures that are just not friendly to the human species which puts you in a hunter/prey environment which forces everybody to team up to simply survive. When you team up you form leaders with different ideas and naturally you'll get the groups split up into factions as their opinions may differ.
If anybody has watched Battlestar Galactica or Stargate Universe then they'll also have an idea of the kind of story atmosphere.

Just posting to say again that I'm happy to go along with whatever you guys come up with.

Accelerator who'd have to survive on an island by 'working together with others' would be quite a sight to behold of.

Looks like survival island is winning so far... Guy, there's no reason why you can't have both characters in the omake *shrug*. But if you just want to chose one, having Accelerator in the group would make things pretty interesting in that situation, as Natsumi said. Although on the other hand... Guy and Mikoto could have some fun poking trolls at each other XP

I think I'd like Kerri in on this... not 100% sure about Mari, I'll have to get back to you on that.

I might involve "Mori Kita", she is one of my original characters who hasn't been in the RP much because she went to Misawa Cram School event but that pretty much went on hiatus.

Kita is a pointA-A teleporter and has kleptomania (meaning she likes to take things almost instinctively), she kinda reminds me of Frenda from RailgunS and Marisa from the Touhou series.

- Anyway that character has been approved and since its an Omake I can add her in and perhaps add abit more depth to her character.

Sure Sayuri, sounds like a great idea. I've added Mori Kita to the list. Since the time setting for Omake is after Arc 1 and before the events of Arc 2, Kita could be presented as a completely new character... i.e. it'll be before the events of Misawa Cram School. Food for thought :3c

[Omake 1] A Certain Mysterious Island

I have placed it in the Arena section... for now since I didn't know where else to put it. Guy, do you think we could make an "Events" section or something on the forums?

Anyways, I decided to post up a vague intro. We haven't really planned anything major regarding plot and stuff so we can work on that as we go.

Feel free to join in guys. Characters can meet up on the island, or become teleported from Academy City together if they know each other/ meet there- it's up to you. Hopefully they'll all be able to meet up somehow XD

I have put up a "facts about the island" post in the first post of this thread. It will contain pieces of vital information rpers have included in their posts about the island, just so that our facts add up. Essentially, we'll be making up the island features and its strange inhabitants as we go

GuyLi is in the Omake and we can now start adding to the "Bestiary".

Sayuri has encountered 'Haragi Faye' along with a gigantic bird.. which really could do with more describing than simply an stupidly big bird metres long and able to push down trees.

I think Kita should encounter Mikoto on the beach, either that or GuyLi.. or both.
She still has to deal with her clothes are soaked.. her important documents are unreadable currently and the confusion of what's going on like everyone else.
