Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
SS: Unendliche Jagd (Unending Hunt)
Date: 23rd June
Date: 23rd June
In Academy City’s Darkness, there is no place for people that reach too high. Despite this, there are some rare cases that can’t be avoided. Luckily, there are people to take care of such issues and keep the scales balanced.
This is the story of one such case.
A certain underground dealer once thought that his position in the world was worth way too little, thus he settled on greedily building up influence in the higher spheres. Of course he was used by those he tried to surpass and in the end someone pinned a few heavy offenses on him, ranking him as an issue that needed to be taken care of.
A bounty was put on his head and the attention of the city’s balance keepers was attracted. ITEM would be sent out to take care of the problem. However, unlike the usual assassination, their mission in this particular case is to capture the target, aiming to get answers leading to those that placed him in this situation… or further problematic cases.
Supposedly an easy mission with easy money, recent info suggests there are elite assassins currently after the target as well as the expensive bodyguard mercenaries he hired just to somehow make it out of the city alive.
Now then, the table is set. Time to go.
For ITEM:
- Spoiler:
- Here is the mission: We want Tsukasa Katsushige taken alive. His escape route is believed to be through a secret passage in School District 22, which once doubled as a smuggling route for goods that would otherwise not be allowed in (or, in some cases, out) of the city. You're going to want to move fast if you wish to make it.
Intel suggests that he has hired a total of three bodyguards, one of which is confirmed to be a Level 4 esper. Do with them as you wish.
For Faction: Elite Assassins
- Spoiler:
- There he is. Running away with his tail between his legs. We thought of him to be some dog, but looks like a rat is more fitting. He is hiding somewhere in School District 22. Find him, and kill him: It is time to cut our losses.
Roster:
Runaway:
Target: Tsukasa Katsushige (NPC: Hyokas)
Bodyguard 1 (Level 4): Oda Rin (SNPC: alexanderbeathen)
Bodyguard 2: Tougane Masaru (touganeshinya)
ITEM:
Mugino Shizuri (ivaman)
Kinuhata Saiai (koyoko)
Frenda Seivelun (NPC: kkohaku(仮))
Takitsubo Rikou (NPC: ivaman)
Assassins:*
Assassin 1: Tsukino Arata (SNPC: libertas719)
Assassin 2: Kurosaki Yasuo (SNPC: yhiromi)
*Assassins are split into two factions: The ones behind the briefing detailed above, and the ones from a completely separate party. If unspecified, you will be sorted into the ones sent by the masterminds above.
Note: This is a Dark Side only SS. Only players affiliated with the Dark Side may sign up. SNPCS are also encouraged, as long as they are appropriately part of the Dark Side.
Since this is the Dark Side, death is a possibility. However, this will be limited to non-canon NPCS.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
I'll have the SNPC Tsukino Arata join in as an assassin. I'm looking forward to killing you all/being horrifically murdered! (I'm fine with either.)
Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Apply for level 4 body guard with Oda Rin!

I am applying to NPC Frenda (with Iva's permission) until Frenda's profile is completed by the actual Frenda.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
I went ahead and moved this thread to the OOC Chat section for obvious reasons.
I will resume posting in the ITEM scene once Koyoko has replied to my PM, discussed with me and made some edits to his post. Thanks in advance~

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Excuse the double post, but I'd like to encourage team ITEM discussion in here!
First of all I confirmed with Hyokas and will mention soon: Mugino's suggestion is going to be shut down soon ~
Second: I'd like team ITEM to sit down together and come up with a serious strategy meeting for solving this whole issue; simply because I favour team work!

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Seeing as nobody seems to have a clear idea as to what the posting order is for ITEM, can we just solidify it for now as the
Frenda/Saiai-->Frenda/Saiai-->Shizuri-->Rikou
Posting order we originally had proposed a while back?

That's been the order since the very beginning. It switches between Frenda/Saiai depending on what happens.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Hello~! I'm the random, unexpected NPC (read: staff who oversees the thread) here to add a little spice to the game after being invoked by a discussion!
And here's a brand new rule...
In order to make this three-way battle more interesting; players will /not/ be allowed to plan ahead how the fight will go. Due to the theme of this thread, I want to see your best on-the-spot replies to your enemy's attack and that without discussing it out with the owner first.
You may plan tactics along with your teammates if you encounter writer's block, however. I just don't want to see the enemies butting in on each other's actions when they're supposed to expect just as much as their characters when it comes to knowing what will happen in the fight next, linear fights are just no fun.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
I gather there was problems with my post in general and I will edit it when I can. But Tougane and Kohaku are going to have to wait, since I've no intention of editing without context of these walls. I refuse to accept that Rin can't cut them, because Mugino may have trouble. Since for one her powers and Mugino's are completely different in context. Two you really need to give a much larger details explanation on this location.
If this is indeed a fighting RP, then you going to need to explain to the fighters about the arena.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
So here's the ruling: The current "battlefield" is a network of concrete tunnels (rectangular cross-section) decorated with pipes made from an unnamed metal synthesized by Academy City. Currently, little to no water is running through them due to the weather above ground. Some intersections have the flooring lined with cast iron, but not the one the Runaways/Frenda are at.
Current location right now is ~500m below ground, somewhere in District 10. ~390m (straight line) distance from border/exit. Remember that the path is not a straight line.
In context of current argument: Rinrin should be able to slice out pieces of the tunnel wall as necessary. Due to thickness of the tunnel, unless she consciously worked at it she should not hit dirt.
Please do notify me if any massive inconsistencies arise.
edit: Considering the density of concrete, Rinrin drops cubes of the ceiling's concrete just over 1.5 meter cubed in size. This can be demolished by Frenda, but with the amount dropped by Rinrin, Frenda probably needs something stronger than the tape.

Didn't exactly get informed of the Rin actions in Tounges last post, but its not entirely bad so I'm just going to add on it. Then it should be Kohaku's turn.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
It's a good thing that the thread has been going smoothly now that we sorted out our main issues, but guys?
I'm quoting Iva here:
"Frenda used a flashbang to blind Rin, Tougane and Tsukasa.
Yasuo used a flashbang to blind Mugino.
Tsukino uses his flashbang-like flashlight to blind Kinuhata."
Perhaps it's time to cut back on the flashbanging now, yes? This isn't a "Fight of the Blind" thread.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Hey hey hey, I specifically included that flashlight in Tsukino's profile's list of gear, so I reserve my right to use it as Tsukino deems necessary! It ain't my fault that everyone else is going around spamming flash(y) grenades all the live long day!
Also, flashbangs are markedly different from Tsukino's flashlight in that they incapacitate via sound as well as light, are single use, and affect an entire area at once, so please don't lump me in with them.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
The NPC is back again.
Since I can see you guys aren't really sure where to take the thread right now, I've decided to announce the new fighting side that will be starting while Frenda vs Tougane still rages on.
Assassins vs Rin/Tsukasa.
Both Yasuo and Tsukino, the assassins, managed to escape from ITEM's clutches so they will be meeting Rin and Tsukasa, who have been separated from Tougane while Frenda battles him.
And because this is going to be a three-person fight, allow me to post a rule in terms of posting order in a fight with more than two persons to give everyone to get a chance to react without being left behind: Person 1 > Person 2 > Person 3 > Person 2 > Person 1
In this instance, an example would be: Rin > Tsukino > Yasuo > Tsukino > Rin.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Wait that order would leave the one who is outnumbered behind. Rin makes first move, the 1st assassin, then 2nd assassin, then 1st assassin again? This doesn't work at all in my mind, since it gives the 1st assassin to strike twice before Rin can react once.
A simple order method of going.
Rin > 1st Assassin > 2nd Assassin > Rin > 1st Assassin > 2nd Assassin
This is the most fair way, since everybody has to wait two moves before going again. Your method leaves Rin waiting three turns.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
I've see more than fair enough points and complaints since yesterday regarding Iva's proposed posting order rule, so I will be overriding that and we shall return to a regular posting order.
Iva's posting order would only really work for coordinated attacks between the assassins, so we'll keep Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Assassin 1 > Rin for then.
Of course, Assassins, please don't spam random coordinated attacks; they are to be planned between both parties rather than randomly initiated to get an upper hand.
The actual order of posting will be, as Alex said, Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Back to Rin, rinse and repeat. However, the order is not to be broken without us being kept aware of it as well as the other two involved, so beware.

Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Personally I don't see this working out. The issue is that Assassin 2 can't say that whatever Assassin 1 is pulling will work out. Let's assume Assassin 1 tries to kick Rin, what will Assassin 2 do in the meantime? He can only attack at the same time or wait for Rin's reaction, as he can't say what the outcome of the attack will be.
Therefore the only possible way for this to work out would be switching between all three possible patterns at best.
Rin > Assassin 1 > Rin > Assassin 2 > Rin > Assassin 1
Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2
Rin > Assassin 1 > Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Rin > Assassin 2
Therefore the only possible way for this to work out would be switching between all three possible patterns at best.

Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2
Rin > Assassin 1 > Rin > Assassin 1 > Assassin 2 > Rin > Assassin 2
Re: Dark Side SS: Unendliche Jagd OOC
Iva, I understand your logic, but you have to understand the underlying issue here. Switching between multiple different posting orders is a recipe for disaster. In fact, it's likely to cause more issues than the issue you're trying to solve.
How would that even work? How would you decide when to switch orders? How would we keep track of which order we're currently using? How will we note that we're switching orders? No matter what answer you give, the simple fact that so many things need to be done in the first place is more than enough reason to not use such a complicated solution.
